Is it possible that backups with malware have delayed activation? For example people are saying the Pikachu backup is fine now, but can it somehow have hidden malware that is set to activate when a certain point in the game is reached, or after a week has passed etc?

Hello guys ! The french community is quiete concerning a possible CFW of the Nintendo Switch, Is there any way to play games when you did the last update or not? Sorry to asking that because I guess it's like that everyday.

Edit : I don't know if it's useful but my serial number is Xaj4002 (I don't know if you need more numbers )

I currently have a Switch on 3.0.0 that is unmodded and has never been online. I want to be able to go online but still preserve any chances at a coldboot. I currently don't need to run homebrew or want to do anything other than preserve my chances at a coldboot and go online. Is it possible using ChoiDujor? Or will simply using ChoiDujor pose a large ban risk and make it not worth it?

What exactly are the benefits (if any) of SX OS Emunand, compared to Emunand of say 3DS that I am used to? I am assuming it does not allow for "Safe" online play on the switch, does it really add many benefits or is there not much of a point in currently setting it up? Also is SX OS and all versions compatible with the newest up to date official FW from Nintendo? I felt like I read of compatibility issues with games using the newer SX OS versions and or Emunand, especially on 6.x switches and want to make sure I am setting everything up properly for my friend on his updated switch.

Stupid question, but I'd rather ask.
Been out of touch with Nintendo hacking recently, and I bought a 2nd Switch so I can hack it.
How would be best? Ive seen I could use use SXOS if I buy it, which seems most likely.
Is there anything I should look out for when doing that, such as 'burning fuses' or such?

"How do I backup my save files?" Should be in a sticky since some people just want to do that.

By the way, got official firmware 3.0.1 on my Switch.

How do I backup my saves without using Nintendo online services or getting banned by Nintendo?

Yes it only changes with each new major firmware revision e.g. 4.0.0, 5.0.0, 6.0.0 etc

Is it normal to have to boot into ReiNX to launch games that I've installed via tinfoil?

I guess I was just expecting to not have to boot into CFW to play the games that have been installed.

I've been out of the loop for a couple months. I have SX OS and want to be able to play games that require higher firmware versions as I'm currently on 4.1. I haven't done emunand yet, and I have a backup of slightly cleaner NAND (I played a couple XCIs before I backed up the NAND. I've still only used XCIs, but I've used a lot more. No LayeredFS or NSPs). If I install emunand now, can I restore my somewhat clean NAND backup over the official NAND later without overwriting my emunand? Should I just restore my old NAND now before creating emunand? Is there even any benifit to restoring my old NAND considering I played a few XCIs on it and I haven't done anything since except play more XCIs?

Highly unlikely but possible.

Firmware is irrelevant. As long as your serial number is not patched, CFW/homebrew will work on any firmware (although new firmwares may initially break CFW/homebrew).

Since ChoiDujour uses RCM and memloader to update the firmware without burning fuses, it presents a very minor ban risk since RCM is loaded before the NAND (meaning no traces should be left in the NAND).

The only other benefit of EmuNAND is being able to boot higher firmwares without updating SysNAND in case a future exploit is released for lower firmwares.

You can do majority of things SX OS accomplishes with free CFW. Follow this guide.
"How do I backup my save files?" Should be in a sticky since some people just want to do that.

By the way, got official firmware 3.0.1 on my Switch.

How do I backup my saves without using Nintendo online services or getting banned by Nintendo?
Use a save manager such as Checkpoint or EdiZon.

You also cannot backup your saves without getting banned by Nintendo since it involves hacking the console; hacking the console and avoiding a ban are mutually exclusive.
Is it normal to have to boot into ReiNX to launch games that I've installed via tinfoil?

I guess I was just expecting to not have to boot into CFW to play the games that have been installed.
Yes because these games are signed with fake tickets that only allow them to be launched in CFW mode.

You can restore the NAND then install their version of EmuNAND.

So Hi guys this is a first for me, so be easy on me !!! My switch is on 5.1.0 with sx os 1.9, and I think I backed up the Nand before doing the cfw, I don't have auto RCM on.
I am not banned !! soooo what is my move from here on out ??! ideally I want to be able to play my games that I bought "Pokemon Let's Go" and FORTCRINGE ONLINE "if possible".
and is the Emunand a working solution ?!??
Thanks in advance !!!

Restore the NAND with Hekate (including boot0/boot1 if the firmware of your rawnand doesn't match the firmware you are currently running since they are also firmware specific). You can also setup their version of EmuNAND to store all of your CFW/homebrew to keep it separated from your SysNAND which you'll ideally be going online with.

Ideally I want to be on latest firmware and latest sx os , and have clean nand to play my games and play online !!?

This guide has instructions on how to restore your NAND.

IF I Restore the clean sysNAND What will happen to my cfw nand ?? is it going to be deleted !??
It will be deleted unless you back it up prior to restoring the NAND.

and when updating (to play pokemon) what nand should I update ??
If you're going to be playing it online, SysNAND; if you're not, you would be updating EmuNAND.

So 1- backup my 5.1 CFW NAND. 2-Restore my clean 5.1 NAND. then what ? how I am going to do an EMUNAND? or should I do EMUNAND first and put my CFW 5.1 on there and then
Restore my Clean 5.1 SysNand , from there Update the SysNAND, and the CFW EMUNAND using ChoiDujourNX to 6.1 ??!

Actually, create the EmuNAND first then restore your clean NAND into your SysNAND. Then you can update either NAND using ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX.
