If you try connecting to the eShop on a lower firmware and it tells you to update, you're not banned. It would give you the ban error code if you were actually banned.

Wait.. wouldnt i risk sending infos from my console?
I used Hekate and dumped my keys with it after all, there surely must be a trace left behind on the system.

More stability?

I mean people are very careful not to update and but since my fw is already high I don't see any harm in it. Do you think upcoming games will require 6.1 or will that likely be another firmware release? What's the requirement for Diablo?

Hekate is loaded in RCM which is loaded before the NAND so theoretically there are no traces to send. If you ran CFW/homebrew on the other hand, you may have transmitted something to Nintendo.

Diablo 3 I hear works fine on 5.1 meaning its encrypted with the 5.X masterkey.

- Got the 2181-4007 Error Code at first when i tried to access the E-Shop.
- But now its been replaced by the standard "You need to upgrade the firmware before you can access the E-Shop" , it also downloaded the Update again which is ready for install. (I will again get rid of it via recovery).
Im honest, i dont care it the console got banned, i wasnt going to play online anyway.

If I update original firmware online but my nand backup is 5.1, if i restore that backup i'll not be able to boot the console due to fuses burned not matching with the firmware update; is it right?

You're going to need exFAT because you can't restore the NAND in FAT32. And when I said don't keep more than one clean NAND backup is every subsequent time you make a new NAND clean NAND backup, the previous ones are useless because once again, you cannot restore the same NAND twice at least from a banning perspective. Lastly, Nintendo has banned plenty of people for never using .NSP files. People have been banned for using LayeredFS, .XCI files, bogus error codes, and even just using homebrew.
Right, I've done all that! And I haven't gotten banned! What if I buy a non hacking switch, and transfer everything to that? Then will my account still have a chance of getting banned because of what I did on the old swjtch?

2181-4007 is not a banned error code. Or at least one that I'm familiar with.

If you don't boot into RCM and use a payload/bootloader that bypasses the fuse check, you won't be able to load your NAND backup that way.

You can do that I suppose.

I sadly cant trigger it again, to make sure that it was the correct one, but i know it ended with 4007.

Ill just edit my question here, since i for whatever reason cant digitally copy my Biskey, would it be enough to make a photo of the data?

Ok, so if i want to update firmware in a modded switch, it is suggests to update without burning fuse. Or, the other option is updating online but make a new nand backup, loosing the old firmware backup.
Ah, there is another option, using sx os emunand.
All correct?

Yes, yes, and yes.

Can I have XCI files on SDcard and USB-stick at the same time? Will SXOSpro scan both and show the games in album?

Putting a $2 plastic jig into the right joycon rail, pressing a key combo, and then plugging it into a computer and pushing a payload is not difficult. If you think it's difficult you are likely new to the console hacking scene. Cause this is one of the easiest coldboot exploits to run
I've hacked my 3ds so it's not that part that's difficult, it's the part about backing up the nand whenever I want to play a pirated game and then switch back.

Is there an up to date easily searchable database for game updates (not necessarily where to download them, just to see what the current update is)?

I'm a bit confused about game updates and firmware requirements. I believe that currently all game nsp can be installed through tinfoil and work on 5.1.0

My question is what about game updates, is there any situation where installing a game update nsp causes you to be on a firmware above 5.1.0 to play it?

It most likely scans both in real-time.

There is a new game called Mr. Tako that has an update which requires firmware 6.0. It may be one of the first of many more updates and eventually games that will require this firmware.

I just bought switch which has SX OS 2.0.1 with OFW 4.1.0. On the SD card, I see there's 300 MB folder by the name of NintendoSDK Firmware for NX 6.0.1-1.0. This folder has lots of .nca files in it.
Can someone please explain what this folder is for? Thx

Its for installing the 6.0.1 system firmware update for the Switch with tools such as ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX.
