Hacking [Review] R4i Gold 3DS Plus

Hello guys, i have this card,using it on my b9s n2ds and it can play some games but others like pokemon black 2 just give me a white screen, i already tried different versione of the game rom like patches, unpatched etc.. Do you have any advice please?

Those Pokémon games came out when I got to high school and never played these. Is this one of those games that use an alternate save type? Have you tried changing that?

Not sure. It works fine here. It seems to be a normal unpatched black version 2. Make sure you're on 1.64 of the wood r4 kernel.

i used 2 test wht 2 (patched) and worked fine with me.
nowdays i'm havin black 1, since i need free space usage on my R4, in order 2 run moonshell well...

Hello, I have a question regarding r4i gold 3ds plus

when my r4i is in D mode it works on my 11.8 U 3ds console

I have another 3ds that is japanese and I did the region change so that it is also 11.8 U firmware, but on this 3ds the r4i will show black screen on boot and if i press any keys it will kick me out to 3ds title screen again..

how can I get r4i to work on my japanese 3ds? help is much appreciated

I recently got the card and I'm liking it so far. The only gripe I have with it so far is the incompatibility with the two Kingdom Hearts DS games as with 358/2 Days, it'll just go to Black after selecting a Difficulty and with Re:Coded, it just goes to a White Screen on boot

EDIT: Fixed the KH Games issue by using a freshly-formatted 32 GB MicroSD card

i have it on here, i mean on my SD card and playin it on my 2ds, but i never played this Bfore, i just tested the game and it seems gud. it's workin 'n kickin all fine!
check out ur firmware/kernel or everything about right way of formattin ur micro sd card.

note: keep in ur mind, the current firmware version is 1.64, at least i think so, lmao

i had an extremely gud experience with R4i3d Gold, i bought it for 100 bucks on here, and i'm pretty satisfied.
this R4 has many features, u can use 3ds thing (idk how to explain), auto-save, quick-save, soft-reset, homebrews (moonshell final ver. inc.), custom themes made by ur own, etc...

it's rlly fine for me, workin on 2018 apr 3DS firmware, 'n kickin gud. (note: i do NOT use internet on my 3DS)

Using it as a regular DS flashcart, is it possible to set up this R4i Gold Plus card to skip the DS health message and go straight to the Wood R4 menu? My old non DSi R4 card can do this so I'm used to the convenience, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it with this new one.

yh, just insert the properly configured R4 into the ds card slot, turn it on, and R4 will open automatically!

That's what I'm trying to figure out, how to properly configure this R4i card to do that (skip the health message and go straight to the Wood R4 menu). My old R4 revolution does it, but not this new R4i.

Guys, is this the best flash cart that we can buy? (too many versions like Gold Pro etc.) I just bought the New Nintendo 3DS XL and am looking at ways to install CFW.

Also, does anybody have a view on whether this is superior to using the frogminer/seedminer method to hacking? Not being able to play DS games is the only disadvantage of using frogminer over a flash cart? Please help

No, none of the DSi compatible DS flashcards support the autoboot flag (since any non-original header would make them incompatible with unmodded 23DSi consoles)

Since the firmware can be rewritten, it is in theory possible to create one that sends the autoboot flag, but I can't say anyone tried

Of course you could install FlashMe, but that does even more - it skips the whole boot animation

There is no inherently best flash card, all depends on one's expectations (of price, intended uses, and consoles to use it on)

This one (as well as its direct predecessor with a green and black sticker, also branded r4ids.cn) are widely agreed to be the best general purpose DS flashcards, suitable for both ntrboot use, and running DS games, with excellent compatibility, on any DS-compatible console (even unmodded)

You can in fact run commercial DS games on a modded DSi or 3DS (using TwilightMenu++ and nds-bootstrap) but compatibility and ease of setup are inferior (as of today and probably for a decent amount of time in the future)
