    Introduction

This flashcard runs DS software and also lets you use NTRBootHax.
What does it make different to others? It comes preflashed, so you can choose to use it as a normal DS flashcard or using it for NTRBootHax by changing the switch position.

    • You can use the flashcard as a regular flashcard or you can use NTRBootHax just changing the position of a switch, which is inside the flashcard.

    Preparation

    Get ready for first use.

At first, you must format your microSD card using FAT32 format.

Then you must download the flashcard kernel: http://www.r4ids.cn/r4i-download-e.htm
    Mirror WoodR4 1.64 de R4iDS: https://www.mediafire.com/file/u49fk3zln8trkq2
    [IMG]
It’s compressed, so you have to extract it and copy it into the root directory of your microSD card. Files must be as shown:

Put the microSD card into the R4i Gold 3DS Plus and it’s ready to be used.

If you want to use NTRBootHax, change the position of the switch to "N". If you want to use it as a normal flashcard select "D" using the switch. Some photos of inside the flashcard:

Uhm... how can I open the card?

    Compatibility

WoodR4 is a very well known alternative kernel that has been developed for a long time.

So it's relevant its high compatibility with DS software. I've tried some conflictive games due to their AP patches as it's the case of Pokemon White 2, which is working correctly.

    Everything was as expected.

    Advantages and disadvantages

    Advantages:
    • Preflashed to be used with NTRBootHax.
    • As it has a switch to change modes It’s not necessary to flash it again to use it in DS mode.
    • Official support of WoodR4.
    • This team is well known by supporting their DS flashcards.
    • No timebomb. Other flashcards stop working when a concrete date is passed, this flashcard is free of this problem.
    • Good compatibility.
    Disadvantages:
    • The switch to change the mode (NTRBootHax - Normal DS flashcard) is inside the card, it's not complicated to access, but you have to take care.
    • Latest kernel was released in2013, although there are not any problems to be solved.

    Conclusion

If you're going to make use of NTRBootHax is an option to consider as it makes the process easier by changing the mode with a switch.

It offers good software compatibility and it's been supported by WoodR4 team. That's why I've always recommended their flashcards.

I consider a design failure having the switch inside as it makes more difficult to access to it. I don't understand this decision. In spite of this I think the other features compensate it, so it all depends on the use you're going to make of this flashcard, and it has the same price of the previous model.

    Where to buy it?

    Very cool.

Can you do us a favor? Use ntrboot_flasher to make a backup.bin in both ntrboot and DS mode and upload those. Would be interesting to see if there are any changes from the standard RTS.

How do you open the card? Does it snap together or is there a screw?

There isn't any screw, you have to separate it carefully. I start to separate the two parts where the contacts are placed, it's a bit easier starting in there.

    It's not hard.

Just pick the top corner of the card with your fingernail until you get a little separation. Then take the edge of a credit card (or something thin) put it in the gap, and slide it around the perimeter of the card and it will come apart easily. That's how I do it at least.

If you've ever pried open a retail game, it's a lot easier than that thankfully since there isn't any glue holding the shell in place.

I've uploaded a video showing how to open it:

I made myself the same question before getting the card.

Looks like you could carefully drill a tiny hole in the back to access the switch without opening it to save the wear and tear on those plastic contacts if your gonna use it a lot between modes.
You could then just use your stylus to switch it when needed

Why does every single post you make have 3ds-flashcard link in it?

BTW - your site is higher than nds-card, have a look:
    http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575 ($3.50 cheaper)

Because all my flashcards are from them and they support shipping from USA too. So I prefer to this site. Currently they don't have gold plus in USA, they say to me one week after, the card will arrive in their warehouse of California.

I got mine yesterday from digimartz, but I'm having issues with it. I'm only trying to use it as a DS flashcard but when I launch it from a DSL it's only showing white screens. In a N2DSXL, launching it gives an error that requires a reboot. This is my first DS flashcard but I'm fairly certain I've set everything up correctly. I'm kind of at a loss at this point.
