I recently bought a PSP Go from a well known auction site and it all seems to work OK. The System Information shows it to be pre-installed with the PRO-B9 permanent CFW. When I connect the PSP Go to a computer I only see the following directories:

codepage
dic
font
vsh

so there is no PSP directory or any sub-folders like PSP/GAME, etc.

When I try to create a new PSP folder it does not let me and shows an Error 0x8000FFFF: Catastrophic failure error ! If I try to copy files onto the storage it says Can't read from the source file or disk

What are my options?

- Would a format of the System Storage help and restore the correct folders/structure?
- If so, would this also remove the CFW (which would not be a problem)?
- Would a Hard Reset help in this case (what is the correct procedure)?

Ultimately I had planned to use the PSP Go with the CFW for backup games, emulators, etc. but I'd like to start with a clean system first.

Any help/advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance

that s the nand!

DO NOT FORMAT OR DELETE FILES THERE.
there s a write protection.

safely remove the device in windows and press select to open the vsh menu.
switch usb mode from flash0 to memory card or something like that, if there s no such option, select open recovery and change usb mode there.

@lucks Thanks for the reply. I changed the USB Device option in the VSH menu Memory Stick (even though there is no Memory Stick in the PSP Go, just the internal storage) and I will check to see if I can see the files later tonight as I don't have the cable with me

Yea, memory card is for both internal and external becsuse if i remember right the psp go will merge internal and external memory (if any)

Anyway you can do whatever you want there but keep in mind that psp go root is ef0 not ms0

Some hbs and old plugins do not work because of this

I think the only permanent hack for the go was the infinite wasnt it?
If your PSP go came on 6.2 or earlier, afaik you can downgrade back to it and use the coldboot method there. If it came with a firmware version after 6.2 downgrading was kinda risky, so Infinity was safer.

You can downgrade any fw.

Infinity is buggy and it could break your psp, also it breaks a few fw functions like the game suspend/resume

Still waiting for the fixed infity 2.0....

It works just fine for me. It's built in unbricker thingy is also pretty neat, since if you accidentally mess up your PSP you can just reflash the internal memory (and if you don't delete the infinity files, you don't even have to rebuild infinity!).

I mean the installer, infinity itself is working more or less but i lost some features like the one mentioned above.
Some were not able to restore their psps and davee developed a 2.0 version which is still unreleased that is supposed to fix the installer and the fw

just so you know, if you install LCFW and use the pause feature, reloading that pause save will also load your hack, so incase you dont want to go through the whole process like me, use that
