So, what's the *safest* way to update SX OS games? I know, everything could result in a ban someday. But one thing sure, installing updates using .NSP is the riskiest way.
Anyone?

it's the only way well going online is a way 2 but nsp updates is the safest way and is purely offline

Aren't you going to get a ban as soon as you go online with your console?
with every game you pirate you'll get banned. Being it an NSP or XCI. If you want to update and keep your switch from being ban-free then you shouldn't even go online to begin with and just use the nsp update. The NSP update is the only way of doing it offline tho

Installing update NSPs is the safest assuming you made a clean NAND backup before hacking that you'll restore prior to going online, which is by far the safest thing we can do to prevent a ban so far. A good habit would be to make another NAND backup prior to restoring the clean one unless you mind reinstalling all of your updates/DLC/games as well as backing up/restoring your save files.

I'm not talking about playing online, that's obvious. I'm talking about connecting online with the console, eshop, ecc

Can you make a "clean nand" via choidujour?

If you dont want a chance of being banned dont hack and go online /or playonline.
Like drax said clean nand backup before, once your down with your hacks and cfw either backup to save your cfw and save. Then if you wish to go online resote your clean backup...

Playing online and going online or even connecting switch to online with cfw or hacks will flag you for a ban anyway

Just go online and update, if you run legitimate backups of your own games the ban risk is pretty much zero.
Been doing this for months now.

To piggyback: assuming my switch will never see the internet and I backed up my NAND before doing anything, is there any difference between using XCIs and installing NSPs, given that I could restore from NAND backup if I ever feel like reverting all of this? Or do we not know the answer to that?

Basically is there any reason I should be using XCIs instead of downloading things with CDNSP on computer and transferring and installing them to the Switch - from a safety standpoint anyhow?
