Is cfw just an adaptation of horizon on which N has power (not sure that's the name of the official firmware, correct me if I'm wrong ) or it's a all new firmware?
Like going online on server is but can we hope having a web browser which is not that risky? (or even a Tungle like homebrew to avoid N servers)

All exploits carry more or less the same risk with online. Either buy a second Switch or don't go online if you don't wanna be banned. Also, online will become paid in a month.
Depends on your definition of CFW. Certain ones like ReiNX and Hekate apply patches to the firmware whereas Atmosphere is trying to replace Horizon entirely. Both do the same thing of exploiting the Switch to do whatever we want, but accomplish it via slightly different means.

When I was young a witch cursed me to forever have consoles constantly break and game saves often become corrupted. Such is life.
Last year I bought a switch and a handful of digital games, but knowing my luck, I’ve not really played it much. I was waiting until Nintendo had a game save backup solution. Having to pay for it year after year feels kind of slimy though. I’ve noticed that there are game save homebrew apps like Checkpoint, but I have a two questions.
1. When my switch inevitably breaks and I send it to Nintendo, could it come back as an unexploitable system? Meaning I could no longer put homebrew on it and restore my saves.
2. I’d like to be able to continue purchasing digital games, and able to get game updates for my current games, so I don’t want to get any ban. I’m currently on 4.1.0 so I’m guessing my best bet would be to wait for emuNAND, and make one emuNAND to update and buy games, while making a second emuNAND to actually play my games offline and use homebrew game save manager? (This is all if I want to keep my original as 4.1.0 to allow for the easiest access to cfw, as using a jig and/or autoRCM with my luck means doom)

Hey guys I purchased a jig off Ebay and it had sharp edges on it's paper clip. I decided to replace the paperclip with some copper wire because I keep seeing people online saying copper is good for whatever reason.
Evidently, my brother somehow acquired a gigantic spool of Ethernet cable from his old job. Discarded leftovers. I cut a piece and cut out a few copper wires. Managed to cut and bend into the jig in place of the paper clip.
The only problem is, I don't understand why a copper wire is superior to the paper clip. The copper wire is very bendable, but just as sharp as the paper clip. I'm not sure why people prefer copper wire. Am I doing something wrong?

Don't know for sure, but if people prefer that, I think it's because the copper wire is softer than a paperclip, and therefore there is less risk of damaging the pins. personally I have no issues with my Paperclip Jig

Just got a Nintendo switch a couple of days ago, just had a couple of doubts
1) I tried the method in the thread here (/threads/a-definitive-way-to-test-if-your-switch-is-patched-or-not-purchases-after-07-2018.512018/) and according to that my switch is hackable so SX PRO is good to go right? Just wanted confirmation before ordering
2) I am waiting for the microSD to arrive to do a NAND backup before doing anything. Right now I have only done the initial setup on it and nothing else. Not even created a nintendo account. I saw people said to do that and install a game and then take NAND backup, should I do that?
3) Its currently on firmware 4.1, I switched off auto update but 5.1 is available. Should i update to that before taking the NAND backup and trying SX PRO? I read that they fixed some patches but I am not sure if they are related to how SX PRO works or not. Also something about Nintendo burning fuses when you update etc. so got confused

1) Yes. Your good to go order away.
2) Its wise to do a NAND backup before you do anything or alter anything going forward. As far as installing a game or games, I could only see that being relevant if you decided to do a full raw NAND backup and wanted those games included when and if you ever restored that particular raw NAND image, but if not, a system NAND and BOOT0/BOOT1 images will suffice if you didn't care about the user partition. The user partition would include any user/account info and games.
3) Rule of thumb concerning Firmware is "lower is always better". SX OS will work on any firmware to date. Firmware restrictions are now becoming less of an inconvenience .There are homebrew tools now which can allow you the use any firmware without sacrificing said fuses granted you always boot into recovery mode and not into Nintendos original boot loader. Still would recommend you stay on 4.1.
- Depends on the damage and if your warranty is still valid. You can also send the console to someone other than Nintendo if it needs repairing
- Or you could make a NAND backup before hacking, do whatever hacks you want with the console offline, then restore that NAND backup before going online. A good suggestion is to make another NAND backup before restoring it, or at least backing up the save data since that will be lost when you restore the NAND.
Just looked at a few rcm guides. Apparently what I did was fine, I just need to bend the copper wire so it cascades smoothly against the pin. Easy bending and availability is why copper wire is good.
I'm going to try to cut out another wire from the ethernet cable slice and make a nicer bend. The wire I have in the picture looks beat up lol.

Ordered the SX PRO. Waiting till 10th August for it to ship now
Hecate will allow homebrew, it basically just patches the firmware to allow you to boot a slightly modified OS that replaces gallery with the homebrew channel.
It will also allow you to backup your nand
In regards to updates, the best thing to do currently is disconnect your WiFi or go into airplane mode, if you must stay online block updates. I believe this is only system updates and not games, but I may be wrong

Is there a way to inject savegames without completely booting to the switch os? Meaning is there some kind of RCM payload that offers file acces, or is there a way to edit a nand dump and reflash it?

You don't install it, it just runs from rcm, when you turn off console it's gone again but the switch may make a log of any homebrew you ran. It's safe to not do anything in cfw and once you use it there's always potential you get banned if you go online.
The only way to be 100% safe is to stay offline
