I have a dsi xl, which i will be selling to a friend for his son. he does not want it modded, just the dsi and the flashcard.

How do i remove unlaunch and return it to complete stock? without the unlaunch or the splash screen for it

I have the backup nand i made when i first installed hiya etc, i have my cid.bin(6D 6B 65 79 E6 03 4D 30 30 46 50 41 00 00 15 00) and my console id 0820209224102114

I know i can just format the sd card, but he wants it stock. it is a mario 25th anniversory edition which his son likes.

Also, weirdly the sound does not seem to work on the main menu, only in sub items, setting etc or games.

thanks

is their guide the only way then?

Look forward to seeing your guide.

I guess the dsi is stuck with unlaunch on it then.

If you followed dsi.cfw.guide you have no hope. : ( I really feel bad for you, and the people who own the site REFUSE to make a PROPER NAND backup.... Restoring the one from FWTool 2.0 will brick... I will make my own guide soon......

Why will it brick?

This is the proper link for the guide https://dsiguide.me/

But as already been ascertained, unlaunch cannot be removed.........yet
dsiguide.me and dsi.cfw.guide are different websites. Maybe the one you linked actually made a proper backup.

EDIT: Looking at both of the guides, since when does fwTool make no$gba footers in its nand dumps?

Since the one bundled with the new and international flipnote-lenny exploit

(failing destructivelty to restore a footered backup is more like bad design of the restoring tool anyway, it should stop cleanly at the end of the device)

In that case, if the OP followed the guide they mentioned (dsiguide.me) then they should be fine since that didnt use the flipnote-lenny exploit (the old 122 paste exploit)

How would i restore that backup to try? if it bricks........shrug

Thats the guide i used, now i am not sure which one is the right/best

Put the backup in the folder with the random letters and numbers on your sd card (if you didnt remove it)
then, go into fwTool and click restore dsi_nand.bin (or something along those lines)

So, how'd it go? I'm also looking to remove Unlaunch and getting advice from someone who tested it seems like a good idea. ^_^

So this means that if you make a backup with FwTool 2.0.0 (the one suggested by the guide at dsi.cfw.guide) and try to restore it with the exact same version it will brick?
