The long awaited exploit for the PS Vita has finally been given a release date. When we first received news of the exploit, we were told it would likely release in 1-2 years, but luckily Vita hacker TheFloW mangaed to find a second exploit for 3.68 and get us an earlier release. The exploit will work on firmware versions 3.65 to 3.68 you do not need an official Sony memory card or an internet connection to use it. If you are on 3.65, you will be able to install HENkaku Ensō, but unluckily those on 3.67 and above won't be able to. I've included a guide for updating to stock 3.65 from 3.61/3.63.

Does this mean 1000 models CAN'T use the vita memory card adapter? like can I install it on a normal vita mem card and then use the hacked vita to use the adapter or do I need to leave the official mem card in?


yeah i'm a dummy and didn't realize the new memcard goes in the cartridge slot and not the sd card slot. I was worried I would have to use that old solder the memory card to the board method.

Because it gives you access to the filesystem. It looks at the cartridge slot the same as any other storage device. So you can get an adapter with a microsd port and the vita sees storage space just like any other partition.

Yes, it'll likely work the same as 3.61+ games on 3.60 when the 3.65 update released where someone modified MaiDump so it could decrypt 3.61+ games so they were playable on any firmware.

Just note that, sometimes, those higher firmware games may have an additional issue or two along with the normal problems of MaiDump games.

Yes, you can access PSN while using Henkaku. Currently, 3.65 still allows access to PSN, so if you're on 3.61 or 3.63 I would suggest upgrading to 3.65 and then installing Enso so you can have coldboot Henkaku and PSN access. Just keep in mind that, while there have been 0 account bans as of yet caused by Henkaku, it's entirely possible Sony may up and start banning people when this latest exploit becomes available (even though it's extremely unlikely).

Regarding the SD2Vita, yes, Henkaku needs to be running in order to use it. This means, if you're on 3.67+, you will need to keep an official memory card (or, if you have a Slim Vita, no memory card) whenever you reboot your Vita so you can install the exploit and access the SD2Vita.

From what I read on twitter, this isn't the exploit he was holding out on. Its another entry point that was recently found by someone else. Hackers these days aren't going to release anything unless they have another one in their pocket.

I think why he chose july 1st is so he can iron out all the bugs and make sure its stable enough for public use
