I don't agree with That. If the side stories didn't come out Then the stort would be more complicated. The side stories actually explained so much That it became easier to follow
Exactly part of the problem. You can't understand the main titles without having played the side games. It created inconsistencies in the story, which makes it complicated - not simple - difficult to tie everything where it needs to be because of plot holes, etc.
Days - Xion was just a plot device. Roxas didn't need her as an excuse to try and leave the Organization, thus, not necessary for the plot to move forward.
Coded - Data Sora going on an adventure of enduring "hurt" so that Mickey can decipher a hidden message in an encrypted journal. Not necessary, and kind of an underwhelming way to tell the story.
DDD - Time travel, need I say more?
Chi/Unchained Chi/Union Cross - Keyblade War element that has yet to tie together the χ-Blade with the story. We are still left with an obscure prophecy from a guy who put his eyeball in a Keyblade (incoming paradox?). Bunch of drama between the Union Masters leads to a Keyblade War. Most surviving Keyblade wielders are put to sleep.
0.2 BBS - Aqua/Mickey story that only shows Aqua fighting her own darkness, and explains how Mickey lost his shirt.
And then there's this (skip to 0:25)
With all the tie-in points and plot holes this series has, yes, I would personally classify the story as more complicated than it needed to be.
The story was already somewhat complicated in 2 though, it's not just a spinoff thing.
As for the delay, I can't say I'm surprised at all given that they said near the start of the year that it would be released "in the next three years or so".
Honestly, I thought 2 was pretty straight forward until they introduced Xehanort. Of course, you'd have to have played CoM in order to understand everything.
Nha, don't be so optimistic: I'm certainly sure there are will be unfinished world which have to paid as dlcs.
You mean FF15, because that game went through development hell, whereas Kingdom Hearts 3 did not. That said though, I won't discount this notion entirely. But I doubt it will be anything of the scale that FF15 was because the circumstances are far different in development.
