Kingdom Hearts III gets 2019 release date

IMG_8595.PNG

Though the game has been promised and scheduled for 2018, Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts III has finally received a definitive release date. It won't be out this year, but Kingdom Hearts III will be launching for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. We'll certainly see more details at E3, at Square Enix's conference on June 11.

Lol, I wonder how people feel knowing that the whole "delayed until 2019" joke has become a reality. I'm kinda bummed, I'll admit, since SE initially said TBA 2018, but as long as they give us a finished product, I'll be happy.

I don’t understand why people are so enraged. I love kingdom hearts as much as the next person. We waited a a lot of years for it, and we were all expecting late 2018 (personally was excepting late November or early December)

I hardly feel that one month of delay is worth the trouble of getting angry.

.. Not to mention, we at least have a date now. We didn’t before.

I don't get why everyone loves KH. There's gotta be a reason for it but I just can't see why

For a lot of people, myself included, there's a love-hate thing with it. The love comes from how good the first and 2nd games were, but at the time when Nomura was focused on what would eventually become FF15, a lot of fans felt left to the side because of the side titles that just made the story more complicated than it needed to be. It's still a good story of course, and the whole Disney thing is something that might put people off (it definitely took me a while to accept the whole Disney thing), but there are also a few wholes in the story that the team didn't didn't fill properly, and it seems like with every mystery in the story resolved, five more appear.

I don't agree with That. If the side stories didn't come out Then the stort would be more complicated. The side stories actually explained so much That it became easier to follow

The story was already somewhat complicated in 2 though, it's not just a spinoff thing.

As for the delay, I can't say I'm surprised at all given that they said near the start of the year that it would be released "in the next three years or so".

Nha, don't be so optimistic: I'm certainly sure there are will be unfinished worlds which SE will have you to paid as dlcs.

Exactly part of the problem. You can't understand the main titles without having played the side games. It created inconsistencies in the story, which makes it complicated - not simple - difficult to tie everything where it needs to be because of plot holes, etc.

Days - Xion was just a plot device. Roxas didn't need her as an excuse to try and leave the Organization, thus, not necessary for the plot to move forward.
Coded - Data Sora going on an adventure of enduring "hurt" so that Mickey can decipher a hidden message in an encrypted journal. Not necessary, and kind of an underwhelming way to tell the story.
DDD - Time travel, need I say more?
Chi/Unchained Chi/Union Cross - Keyblade War element that has yet to tie together the χ-Blade with the story. We are still left with an obscure prophecy from a guy who put his eyeball in a Keyblade (incoming paradox?). Bunch of drama between the Union Masters leads to a Keyblade War. Most surviving Keyblade wielders are put to sleep.
0.2 BBS - Aqua/Mickey story that only shows Aqua fighting her own darkness, and explains how Mickey lost his shirt.

And then there's this (skip to 0:25)

With all the tie-in points and plot holes this series has, yes, I would personally classify the story as more complicated than it needed to be.

Honestly, I thought 2 was pretty straight forward until they introduced Xehanort. Of course, you'd have to have played CoM in order to understand everything.

You mean FF15, because that game went through development hell, whereas Kingdom Hearts 3 did not. That said though, I won't discount this notion entirely. But I doubt it will be anything of the scale that FF15 was because the circumstances are far different in development.

Days : Showed who Roxas was and explained a ton of information about the organization and about characters that will be important in the near future like Axel and why he chooses to help Sora because he cares about Roxas and Xion so that story was necessary !
Coded : That hidden message ties to next games in the series
chain of memories : Showed a lot of information about the characters of organization 13 and what drives them plus who namine is so again a necessary story
birth of sleep : Showed why roxas doesn't look like Sora and how the main enemy came to be so again a necessary story
Dream drop distance : Showed what the main enemy his goal is and how he hoped to achieve it but eventually fails and that he needs to approach it differently also showing that Axel became a keyblade wielder plus kairi and Riku becoming a master.
Starting with birth by sleep they explained what the keyblades are and that there originally was only 1 Keyblade but nations started to copy that 1 keyblade creating fakes and eventually fighting and destroying the world making the world not whole anymore but fragmented over space.
So how are those sidestories not important and how you said it '' not necessary''.
To me those sidestories are essential and actually make the story a lot more easy to understand and without those you wouldn't understand shit.
Plus the video you provided can't be more wrong and is clearly made by someone who doesn't understand the story. Xion is made of Sora's memories ? Wtf Xion was made as an empty shell who sucked out Sora's memories so that she eventually would became him hence why she started to look more and more like Sora and at the beginning she didn't even had a face hence the hood all the time.

Well... I think you should also play KHUX. You have some things wrong there xD
