Hacking Is it worth it to buy SX OS?

I mean is it worth it to buy the sx os alone ?
Running payloads from pc / phone doesn’t really bother me

Depends. Do you want the "I did it first" rights? ...or "backup loading before it was free" privilege? It's up in the air. I've got the Pro on order. Mostly due to curiosity. The dongle is more or less a "convenience" compared to hooking it up a laptop or phone on the go. So, the OS should suffice if you're just wanting the TX solution without their dongle.

I would personally yes because you don't need the dongle or jig to play backups, you just need the CFW. Considering you can enter RCM with a paperclip, not use it again with AutoRCM, and use say a Switch Pro charging cable as the USB cable, the dongle and jig seemed to be aimed at those less inclined at sending payloads via non-TX based methods

Unfortunately for me I already bought all the Switch games I wanted to play before TX announced backup launching. Now its a game of waiting to see if Smash or EmuNAND will come out first. That's the only game that would make me bite and update to the latest firmware.

Totally worth it, especially now when retailers are jacking up prices of pro bundle due to demand. The OS is digital so supply is unlimited, hence the price has remained stable.

i think i might go for it. if a different payload turns out to be better that the default tx sx os, you can flash another payload. that seems pretty handy. in the usa, modchipsdirect seem to have the best price.

I think the Dongle is the thing thats worth it regardless of using SX OS or other things.

TX is nice enough to add option to launch other stuff using their Dongle, so its useful for those who are not even using SX OS.

You need a specific key to activate the os.. Like an activation key for windows

There's a therad somewhere in Modchips and Backuploaders where people are trying to exatly do that. I cant find it currently but i've it bookmarked at my PC. I will send a link as soon as im home.

the OS Generates a specific File. You need to upload that file to a website and then you get another file from the website that will activate the os. The site is https://sx.xecuter.com/license.html

The server that processes the file isn't up yet but the site is.

I think this web page is like a software Register. He needs to modify your files to complete the registration. So in the future there may be a dedicated Register?

I doubt it. More likely there will just be some heavily obfuscated code that fails to run if the key is wrong, maybe even using the switches security.

Cobra & True Blue did similar things on the PS3 and they didn't get hacked.
