It's not persistent coldboot though, at least not with what is currently public knowledge. You'll have to boot RCM and push the payload over USB for each reboot
I'm not referring to atmosphere as we know it. I'm saying down the line.

Is anything actually verified for that? Because I've seen a lot of people claim that but no actual word from any reliable source that its actually happening.
Remember how we weren't going to have hax for fw post 3.0.0? It'll happen.

Yeah, but then SciresM posted Deja vu demonstration. Right now Ii have yet to see any dev actually say (or even hint) that it will ever get persistence. Until that happens it's just a mere rumor and a wish, not fact.

Same thing with them releasing Deja Vu... And FG.. and hax in general. Chill with the skepticism. Everything up until now was a rumor at one point.

I'm not skeptical about exploits in general. But when everyone is going around saying we'll get persistent coldboot as though it were fact, I prefer to know where the info is coming from. Wanting to know the facts is not really skepticism.

Like every time I ask people where they got the info I don't get an answer at all or just get some vague reply that doesnt actually answer my question.

They probably get it from hearing other people talk about it, but those people are just having wishful thinking and imagining what they'd like to see.

I mean, as long as people don't give up a console, people will always find new exploits. I hate cliches, but the 3DS is a prime example. What started as an extremely small scene consisting of people between 4.1 to 4.5 eventually evolved into allowing anyone to hack their 3DS. It did take several years for that to happen, but the point is that it happened. If there was an untethered coldboot, Fusee Gelee would be thrown out the window in a heartbeat. But we don't know when exactly that will happen. Could be tomorrow, could be next year, or it could be during WW3. Point is if you want to wait for a hack like that, you are free to do so. I'll just mess around with my hacked Switch with my paperclip and USB cable in the meantime.

The issue is we have a full dump of the bootrom already, and it's RE'd so pretty much any bootrom exploit should be fairly easy to find for those who know what to look for.
I'm not saying it's impossible, and in fact we know there is more than the one vuln in the bootrom, and so far we only have one publicly known bug. So it's very possible one of the others is coldboot and persistent.
In fact it may be being held on to to try to have it exist in Mariko update.
I'm not against hoping for it to happen.
But I am against people basically saying it exists as a fact, with no proof to back those claims.
Especially when they use it as a reason to back their argument (ie before when it was used to defend why emuNAND is unnecessary)

Will there be a closed test phase when this is finished, or will we be the testers?
It's public, so... Other than the main devs testing it out before release, we will be the trial and error consumers.
There might be a closed beta, I used to be more involved in the scene, trusted people sometimes get to test (usually only within hours of release, so that they can't really early release anything)

Been away from the site for a couple weeks, seems some things have changed in this scene. What's the current state as far as CFW goes? My bias is towards 4.x firmwares since I'm there.

What's with the sigh? If it's not out it's not out, if it is it is, I'm just looking for information without reading tons of topics and mixed information.

For now you can only use homebrews on your console, but no CFW.
ScriresM and others are working hard to bring CFW soon!

You have to wait or buy the SX Pro from team xecuter, which will be launched this month.
With SX Pro you will be able to run backup games.
