Yeah, but that would be an annoyance, because I can guess a couple of things from it, from worst to not so bad:The "XS OS" won't be just a payload.bin download, that would be stupid (for them). Meaning you won't be able to load it from Android or your own fusee-gelee-tool of choice.
I guess it will be their own tool with the payload embedded in it, requiring some kind of authentication. Anyway, 16$ for it seems like a good deal to me.
I know, and for this reason you should avoid pirating but buy the licence for an "OS" that we promote as being useful to pirate things... and we trust you won't pirate it... because how could you pirate... but... erm... oh...
I'll make a note in the OP but the pricing in the OP is for resellers that are buying licenses/products in bulk to resell to the consumer. That's why the pricing is $16/$26 and goes down as more are purchased in bulk. You can only purchase a minimum of $500 worth of product for them to consider selling to you. If I had to guess I'd say that the license itself would be in the $25-$30~ range with the reseller's markup.
I d get hopes down, this wont be cloned. If they were competent enough to make this hack, that d be foolish to think they didnt do anything to protect their software. There may be some reversal engineering in the future but until then , we will have atmosphere running nice n clean. Well, the software thing looks interesting since we gotta install it only once. So i think i ll stick with the software. As long as it doesnt turn off when in sleep mode like hetake, i m good. At least till atmosphere comes out
Whoah indeed. But isnt that impossible since its not charging? It wouldn't surprise me if their stupid dongle didn't adhere to the stupid switch charging wattage and short circuited whatever port those 3rd party docks were ruining too
It has another usb c port on the end for whatever reason. If I had to guess it could be used for validating the os license with a pc? Idk, but I wouldn't stick a charger in it.Whoah indeed. But isnt that impossible since its not charging?
16$ seemed like a good deal to me. More than 20$ for a freaking payload it's too much. 30/40$ for the whole package (SX PRO) would be ok to me.
I mean, I would understand prices WAY HIGHER than these if the rest of the scene could not achieve this. But that's not the case. As soon as Atmosphere is done, it won't take long until someone releases a backup loader. Even sooner considering the amount of people that will be working on reverse engineer this thing.
You sure about that (that you can control it)?Voltages are software controlled, someone could write code to intentionally blow as many components as possible, in theory.
The price on the first post picture is for wholesale, the price would be much higher for the consumer.
One could weaponize the linux battery calibration fuckup if they wanted to and make the normal OS think 100% is actually dead battery and shut off, I would think it's possible anyway. You sure about that?
Yeah, there were some (many?) warnings coming from fail0verflow, regarding e.g. how they fried their display once due to experiments on their Linux build. It's on the most recent blog post on their website, I think. You sure about that?

"Includes USB dongle, tool (use once to install OS)" ????
not talking about the reseller website btw, the other guy just thought the wholesale price is the price for consumerBy the time this thing comes out, Atmosphere by sciresm would already have come out of be soon to be released for free. Maybe without the piracy but without the drawbacks either
