Nintendo files new trademarks for Mario Party, Punch Out, and more

iqqal2p.png

Back last month, we saw some trademark documents from Nintendo, regarding some of the games that they revealed during their last Nintendo Direct. These were trademarks such as for the 3DS port of Luigi's Mansion, Smash Bros., and interestingly, Wario Land. This week also saw Nintendo and Game Freak register a trademark for Ultra Shiny, covering a large amount of different topics like merchandise, games, and TV.

Today, the blog site "Japanese Nintendo" found that Nintendo registered some more trademarks, this time relating to multiple Nintendo franchises. Video game trademarks were filed for Mario Tennis, Paper Mario, Dr. Mario, Mario Party, and Punch Out were all filed on the 24th of April. Trademarks never mean anything certain, but it does give us a look into things Nintendo may be planning or wanting to develop, especially for the Nintendo Switch.

Damn still no Hotel Mario
Still no Cardboard Mario either. But I think the cardboard is reserved for Yoshi. (The tax fraud specialist)

Mario Kart 9, Yoshi, Sma5h, and Metroid Prime 4 please.

I'd love to have Thousand Year Door on Switch, never got to play that one. But you never know what to expect with Nintendo.
Sometimes they port old stuff, sometimes they disappoint with new stuff.

Why does everyone think Paper Mario: Sticker Star's bad? It's technically the first one I've played and I liked it.

We need a proper Mario Party, Gamecube style. The went seriously off the rails on the Wii and WiiU.

I agree. Mario Party has been messed up ever since Mario Party 9. Mario Party 8, on the other hand, I actually liked.

I also hope Nintendo does better with Paper Mario this time. Sticker Star was NOT my favorite game in the series. Color Splash turned out better, but I still can't stand the battle style. Both the sticker and card based battles feel very restricted. I really want the more RPG-like battle style that The Thousand Year door had. TTYD is still #1 as far as I'm concerned.
