Sorry if it sounded like I was referring to you ploggy. I already saw your DS3 test, but I think you were the only other person to test HID. Are there any good arcade/console games that support more than 4 players that can be tested with the available HID driver cores? I am a sucker for 4-8 player games on the Wii U.

I don't know of any games that support more than 4, but there's a few 4 player Arcade games. Konami games mostly..

I only tested with mgba, nestopia, and SNES9x cores as those are the only ones I use. My tests were completed on a Black Wii U with vWii USB in the top-back and Wii U USB in the bottom-back port w/ GCN adapter in the front two.
  • Controller priority has Gamepad acting as first controller in any scenario. Can this be changed? Is it possible to have Gamepad and another controller both be set to player/input 1?
  • Official Gamecube adapter w/ 4 controllers automatically populates inputs 2-5 if Bluetooth controllers aren't powered on prior to loading Retroarch
  • If Bluetooth controllers are powered on and synced prior to loading Retroarch, they populate ahead of the GCN adapter. I am really happy about this since I never unplug the Gamecube controllers from my system. Thanks!
  • Analog sticks do not work on Gamecube Controllers
  • Wii Remote support seems broken? It works for a second or two and then stops responding (repeatable). I only have one Wii Remote on hand right now and it is the Motion+ Mario edition.
  • Classic Controller seems to populate separately from Wii Remotes. I encountered the same Wii Remote bug once while using the classic controller.
  • Every time I plug/unplug the Classic Controller it creates a new input # for the Wii Remote and/or Classic Controller input and leaves the old one filling a dead input.
  • If the max input is set to 5 and more than 5 controllers are connected, Retroarch will still assign them slots although they don't respond to button presses.
Thanks! That Wii remote issue sounds interesting, hopefully we can reproduce it. Re: Gamepad controller priority; this is how RetroArch has always acted, and from what I understand gblues deliberately left it like that. However, pretty much everyone who gave feedback has pointed out the Gamepad's prime position, so once gblues' current changes are merged and stable I might start a discussion about changing that. I've passed everything on to gblues so he can add it to his list ^_^

We certainly appreciate all the feedback we've gotten so far! In response to the stuff you guys have pointed out to us, gblues fixed a bug with the GameCube adapter and is currently working through fixing analog input. The really important thing with massive changes like these is to test, test, test! We don't want to risk breaking the nightlies, so we really appreciate that you guys are testing this early. If you don't like posting in this thread (you're not the only one, don't worry) there's tons of other ways to contact me, or you can post in the GitHub issue. I'll try and get a new set of builds up once analog input is fixed.

Well, this is embarrassing...
I spent like one week cleaning up my rom collection and I found that PrBoom was broken (I can't remember the nightly I was using). I did read from @ploggy some days ago that PrBoom was Indeed broken and days later it was confirmed to be working again, so I went ahead to download the 19th's build and yeah, PrBoom was fixed, but now FB Alpha is broken and XMB is a little buggy, DSi Errors appears too often. I don't know if developers are aware of this but my question is: What is the lastest stable build with all fully working cores?

Konami’s old X-Men arcade had a 6 player version, though I’m not entirely sure if it display right in either Mame or FBA cores because that cabinet originally had 2 screens side to side. I cherish memories of playing that as a kid at a local Pizza Hut.

PrBoom should be working, there hasn't been any commits made to it other than a fix for Android makefiles, but that's about it.
Be sure to clean up the configuration files for RetroArch and try to do a clean install (but backup your stuff first like playlists, thumbnails, etc).
A guy had the same issue two weeks ago, but it all came down to user error and not the cores/RA itself.

FB Alpha is still broken for me. I don't know if someone else can confirm this :/

Wich games? or all games?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wich games? or all games?
If you have homebrew on the vWii or actual Wii, you could also use chocolate Doom, it's a excellent port with support for all exra episodes, also hexen and Strife are ported by the same dev. All excellent ports.

PrBoom is OK, is just FB Alpha, I fixed it downgrading the core to 1.7.1. I don't like vWii homebrew when I have the possibility to use the far superior Cafe OS mode :) also afaik that port doesn't support libwudrc nor libwupc.

Thanks for everyone’s input!

Status update:

- I think I’ve got the pad disconnect weirdness sorted. Now, when a pad gets disconnected, there’s an OSD and the player’s device index reverts to “none.”

- I got the GCA to work with only the data cord connected.

- With regards to USB hubs: my DS3 works when connected via a hub, but not the GCA. I have no idea why. It’s possible this is strictly an issue with my hub. Users with a powered hub might have better luck. I don’t have one to test with.

I’m still working on analog inputs.

Thank you for working on this for us. And welcome :)

Where is the documentation for the Commodore - Amiga core?
I checked on https://docs.libretro.com/meta/see_also/ but couldn't find it there.

Or does anyone have this core perfectly working on Wii U, and what did you do ?
Without the documentation, i have a lot of questions and I don't want to do "trial and error", already had to diagnostic my stupid computer...

What are the best cores for NES, SNES , GBA and GBC ?
So many choices, I don't know which one to pick for my playlists.
For NES I use FCEUMM, but Nestopia is a good option too.
SNES I always go for Snes9x, no doubt (main Snes9x, not the ones with 20XX at the end).
GBA is mGBA, NO DOUBT.
And for GB/GBC, I use mGBA too, but Gambattle is a good one as well, I just like to keep all GB/C/A stuff under one core, hence why I use mGBA for all of them.
