Unless open-source tools are made to compile the shaders for the Wii U, the only other way to get them would be to get the Wii U's SDK, and compile the shaders with said SDK.

Then share the compiled shaders in one of those ISO sites for the Wii U or something, that's the only way I can think of going about it at the moment UNTIL open source tools are available to do so.

Since "anyone" can subscribe as a dev for free @Ninty (to get the SDK) a step by step solution on how to do this on our own would be nice I guess. :)

Hey guys I've been trying to get Galaga setup with fbalpha but for the life of me I cannot understand why it's always upside down. Can anyone try it out and let me know if they can get it to work? galagao.zip is the only fbalpha game doing this to me
Go to the Quick Menu once you opened Galaga, and search inside Options.
There should be an option to turn the output image/screen, though I can't remember what it was called, but it should be there somewhere.

You can use the rotation setting too. It's in the video settings, you may have to enable advanced settings first though ;)

CAn someone tell me which BIOS files we need for RetroArchs current working cores? Just trying the famicom one, renaming it disksys.rom and seeing if it works.

No I don't mean pull-up the retroarch menu. I mean actually shutdown retroarch and go back to sysmenu (hoping this doesn't mean it's crashing). Mind trying it out? Push down into left and right sticks, while holding L and R at the same time. Had someone else confirm separately. No changes to Hotkeys.
Oh you meant exiting Retroarch altogether?
Well I always do it by going to the RA menu, then selecting the "Quit RetroArch" option.
I don't even know if pressing down the analog sticks together do anything at all. :/

I guess I didn't explain this very well haha. Someone reported to me that their retroarch was force closing itself whenever they pressed that combo accidentally (Push both analog sticks in and L+R). I tried it out on my system, where I have never setup hotkeys, and yeah I get the same thing. I'm just wondering if this is a bug i should report or not
Oooooooooooooooooh
Now I get it hahaha.
I'm not home at the moment to try it out unfortunately, but I'll try to do so when I get back home from work.
Besides, I have to do some extensive testing on the Wii U for hours of gameplay since I had a shutdown yesterday of the console due to overheating.
I think I fixed it, but I want to make sure by playing for at least 3 hours on a row. That'd be enough to test the L+R sticks thing too :P

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
