This is amazing. Except I don't have the equipment to make and print these in good enough quality. It's not possible to pay someone to make these for me, right?
I have found that Elmer's Rubber Cement works way better then the double sided tape. You just apply an even coat to both sides of the backing... wait about 30 seconds and squeeze the fold together. The plus side is any excess mess you make easily just rubs off.
No I never did buy the printer. It was too expensive. And I'm always glad to accept free stuff if you feel like sending me something PM me.Did you ever buy a printer for the cards? I work in a print shop, have access to a Solvent, UV, And Latex printer. I've tried Solvent and UV so far... The Solvent looks the best, the UV isn't as "Glossy", but that might be the look you're going for. I printed on reflective Material to give it more of a glossy/shiny look for the solvent.
I'm going to bring a card and try to print directly to it with UV, see how scratch resistant it is. We print directly to PVC all the time.. but being handled/scanned a lot, I'm not sure how good itll be.. but I'll do a test!
I printed 2 of each.. one for me, and one for a buddy. I'm going to try UV printing directly tomorrow. If it works, I need to make a Jig that'll allow me to put 10+ cards in at once to print on. The printer I use is a 74" x 10 FT printer... so printing cards 1 by 1 would be a bit of a pain! I can at least test and see how good it works though.
I live in Canada also... If you'd like, I can mail you a set of printed vinyl / laminated. It's not as good as direct, but it's really nice, thin vinyl that's meant for car wrapping... so it works and looks great. Much better than paper stickers printed on Inkjet at least. Least I can do for you since you supplied all these artworks for free! It's made my collection look much nicer.
Wow, cant post images. I guess I havent posted much so it's seen as spam! On /Imgur.co m/a/ekWVM

Found a way to post images with 0 post history!

And the prints look good but it looks like you printed the playing card sized images. The credit card sized images posted in this thread would be a better fit on the pvc cards.
Just posting this so I can point people to it.
My steps for making cards:
Use this template:
https://gbatemp.net/attachments/random11-6-scribus-credit-card-template-zip.84725/
Follow this guide which explains how to use the template to create a PDF with all your images on it for printing:
https://gbatemp.net/attachments/how-to-use-scribus-for-printing-cards-pdf.83321/
Use this guide for cutting out and gluing the images together to make the cards: https://gbatemp.net/attachments/how-to-cut-out-amiibo-cards-pdf.83152/
This is an amendment of that guide:
As for the corner cutter. I used a "Sunstar Kadom Pro, Corner Cutter (S4765036)" which has a 3mm (radius) blade.
If you are planning on using the PVC NFC cards and need a way to stick the images onto the PVC cards see this post for examples and methods I tried.
There are also ways to buy specific NFC cards which support ink jet printing. These are special, not every PVC card will work with ink jet printers (normally you would need an ID card printer). I do not have much experience with them but if you google "inkjet printable nfc cards" I'm sure you can find some useful information.
Great job!!

Here is my template if anyone wants it, I use it with the Brainstorm M tray for Canon. It's using Scribus 1.4.6. All of the images have to be sideways and it only has a 1/16" bleed
I never made a template with a specific size of paper. If you are following my guide for printing out the cards, the PDF printer driver will automatically lay out the cards on whatever size paper you choose. The only problem is you might want to do a test print and compare it with one you know to be at 100% scale, because the PDF printer driver will shrink your cards if you try and cram too many on a page at once. Personally, with my printer, and the printing margins I chose, I was able to get 8 (2 by 4) credit card sized cards on one 8.5x11 page, and 6 (2 by 3) playing card sized cards. You might be able to fit more on an A4 page, But I haven't tried printing on A4 paper so I don't know how many will fit.hey @Random11 for the 6card template? what size paper is that? A4 or 8.5x11?
would it be possible for you to send me the template for the 8 2x4? i'm thinking of switching to the 8.5x11 paper instead of the A4, I can't get the cards right the bleeds seem wrong, i'm also trying to use the images from http://emanuelebgn.tumblr.com/post/139301131921 but they dont seem to load properly in the 6 credit card template, they look like this compared to yours... Oh, I see what you mean, you dont need a new template. The template you are using has enough pages for 6 full cards (6 fronts and 6 backs). So if you wanted to print 8 images per page you will need to only fill in 8 of the 12 pages in scribus (4 full cards), and leave the rest blank or delete them. And yes, his images dont have bleed (the part you cut off) so you will have to go into the property window and change the placement from -0.5cm X-Pos and -0.5 Y-Pos to 0 X-Pos and 0 Y-Pos.would it be possible for you to send me the template for the 8 2x4? i'm thinking of switching to the 8.5x11 paper instead of the A4, I can't get the cards right the bleeds seem wrong, i'm also trying to use the images from http://emanuelebgn.tumblr.com/post/139301131921 but they dont seem to load properly in the 6 credit card template, they look like this compared to yours... okay thanks, that seemed to work will try printing on 8.5x11 and see how it comes out, I managed to delete the extra pages and make 8, so i can do 4x2 ( 8 artwork per page ), is their a simple way to duplicate that? so can just make 1 huge pdf of front/back of all amiibo's so when im ready to print i can just do 1 job? or would it be best to do them in batches?Oh, I see what you mean, you dont need a new template. Page>Copy ... source page doesnt matter, input how many pages you want to add. They only down side to doing it in one big pdf is if you have messed something up, or the printer settings aren't right if you print a ton at once its just going to cost you more money if there is something wrong. But as long as you are sure everything is good one single pdf is fine.okay thanks, that seemed to work will try printing on 8.5x11 and see how it comes out, I managed to delete the extra pages and make 8, so i can do 4x2 ( 8 artwork per page ), is their a simple way to duplicate that? so can just make 1 huge pdf of front/back of all amiibo's so when im ready to print i can just do 1 job? or would it be best to do them in batches?
