SXSW Sonic panel: News announcements roundup

As previously announced, SEGA's mascot will be at the Texas SXSW convention, where the company is scheduled to reveal their plans for the series. The panel will start today at 3:30pm CDT/8:30pm GMT and will feature Aaron Webber (PR manager), series veteran Takashi Iizuka, and Sonic Mania's intro animator, Tyson Hesse. There's multiple things that SEGA could show off today, seeing as they specifically mention giving a fans "a look into the future for the series", be it a new 3D Sonic game, the rumored Sonic Racing game, or perhaps something Mania related? The official banner for the panel even has the classic depictions of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles on it. What do you think will be revealed? Today at SXSW in Austin, Texas, SEGA will be hosting a panel to announce upcoming projects based on the beloved Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The panel, titled “Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel” will take place today, March 16 at 3:30 PM CST.

Panelists include Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Social Media Manager Aaron Webber, Sonic Product Development Director Austin Keys, Sonic Mania Animation Director Tyson Hesse and TV Animation Production Coordinator Jasmin Hernandez. The team will discuss the future of the franchise, and some exciting new projects and collaborations.

Well, a new Sonic Racing game was announced, and it's neither a new All-Stars or Rivals or even Riders because they said it was an all new installement, something that was never made before. Let's just wait for E3 then.

Also, they didn't talk about an Unleashed port AT ALL, as much as people wanted it to happen.
