Hello,

The 5.0 firmware is already out, I am being pressing all the time to upgrade it...

I have some questions:
1. How can I manage to avoid the console asking me all the time to upgrade when I am about to open a game?
2. When openning a game, I have the impression by the text it shows that it wants to update the game, not the Switch...is it right?
3. Is there any easy way to direct hack&play for example the SNES?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

You can delete a downloaded system update by turning the Switch off, then restarting it while holding down both volume buttons

You can update games manually by pressing + while they are selected and choosing "update" from the menu.

This ensures you are updating the right thing.

You can delete a downloaded system update by turning the Switch off, then restarting it while holding down both volume buttons: It only gives me the possibility of Update the console, restore without deleting save data or full restore...

You can update games manually by pressing + while they are selected and choosing "update" from the menu: When I do that it throws the following error: 2016-1100 It is necessary to updatate the console to download this data. To update it....blablabla.

How can I do it?

BTW I have the 4.1.0 version.

My last question:

3. Is there any easy way to direct hack&play for example the SNES?

That's it, you've already done it. Just turn the console back off to exit safemode, and then turn it back on again.

Well then you can't update software unfortunately. (Maybe you can update software once you have deleted the firmware update data, I'm not too sure. I checked just 24 hours ago and you could still update games, but it might have changed since then... or you might be trying to update a game with a patch that requires 5.0.0, like Kirby)

Not on 4.1.0

1. Disable your internet connection, and go into maintenance mode to wipe the updatefiles
2. It will update your game, possibly rendering you unable to play the game as any update will require the most recent firmware.
There is also a chance that it will automaticaly update your console too, tho Im not up to date with this
3. So you are asking about how you hack a SNES or how to get SNES games on your Switch?

Damn i was late ;D

so 1.0 console here, read in somepost no point in staying on it since it has no browser, and from my understanding the exploits are usually run from there.

im new to the scene actually, so just a heads up to what to do and expect.

don't update! 1.0.0 is the best possible firmware you could be on.

ya i put it under my bed have no games for it so there will be a cfw for 1.0 atmosphere as i recall correct

You still need to get a hold of a Japanese Tetris cartridge to be able to start HB in the future. (Japanese is important here, no other version works!)

no way im going to find that.
you sure about the tetris thing.
at least i hope with the cfw i can spoof to 5.0 or custom cfw and go online and play games at least

ok thx so its a must for the puyo tetris game.
one more thing i heard switch physical games might come in different versions holding different updates.

final thing its the tetris and thats it right, any info on should i have it all time in the switch or its a one time thing

What's the deal with the Japanese Tetris cart?? Is that only for someone on 1.0.0? Mine's on 3.0.0 and I want to make sure I haven't missed something important here.

Edit: Never mind, I was able to find this thread (https://gbatemp.net/threads/to-any-one-whi-has-a-switch-on-1-0.490854/) and see that it's only important if you're on 1.0.0. Per the thread my 3.0.0 has it's own browser & would use smhax to get to HB.

My console downloaded the update and keeps asking to do so every time I open a game. Is there a way to delete it?

please use the search function!

1. Shut off your Switch
2. Start your Switch in recovery mode (VOL+ and VOL- simultaneously with Power)
3. Choose update
4. Choose cancel
5. Restart your Switch and profit.

However, when it is connected to the internet it will download the update again.

You dont even have to do the 3rd and 4th steps... just reset.
