Hello everyone!

I'm a 17-year-old beginner developer from Brazil, and this is my first homebrew project for the Nintendo DSi.

The idea behind HelinPlayerDSi came from a simple goal: creating a more modern music player experience for the DSi.

The official Nintendo DSi Sound app is a nice piece of software and fits the console's style very well, but it has some limitations for everyday music listening. I also tried some existing homebrew music players, but some didn't have the features I was looking for, had compatibility issues, or simply didn't work as well as I expected on my console.

After looking for alternatives, I realized that other DSi users also wanted a more complete and reliable music player. Instead of just searching for a solution, I decided to try building one myself.

One interesting detail: I currently don't have a laptop or PC for development. The entire project is being planned, written and organized using only my Samsung Galaxy A10 smartphone. I'm developing everything through my phone while waiting for the opportunity to get a computer that will allow me to compile the project into a functional .nds application.

Planned Features

🎵 MP3 playback
📂 Music browser (SD card "/Music" folder)
🔀 Shuffle mode
🔁 Repeat mode
⭐ Favorites system
📊 Playback statistics
🏆 Achievement system
🎨 Interface inspired by the Nintendo DSi design

Current Progress

✅ Project structure
✅ Initial code base
🚧 Interface development
⏳ Audio playback not implemented yet

The project is still in its early stages, but I plan to share updates as development continues.

Feedback, suggestions and ideas are always welcome!

I hope this project can become a useful alternative for the Nintendo DSi homebrew community.

Thank you for reading!
