Remember: other tetris versions do not work!

Well you don't really need the tetris game update since you can use Pokken Tournament DX to update from 1.0.0 to 3.0.0. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Depends on what firmware nintendo dispatch when you wants to update, if they dispatch 5.0 then you get 5.0, there is no choosing firmware without cart updates

Welp I made sure to block updates on 4.1.0 at least now I don't feel bad updating from 3.0.1. Just gotta make sure all my games are updated b4 Nintendo throws another firmware at us

His question was whether he needs to update to get HB. So the answer was no.
To make it clear, he didn't say he want it instantly or even in the short term as he will be busy playing a game he likes.
As soon as there is CFW for which he should wait if he is on 1.0.0 he will be able to use any customized switch fw and play what ever he wants.

Yes. Then block updates once on 4.1.0.

If you are on firmware 3.0.0 Lucky You!!! Turn off wifi-go to settings-system-turn off automatic updates-turn on wifi

If you are on firmware 4.1.0 like me I just tried to homebrew my switch however it does not work
The browser on the switchbru dns server is quite like homebrew however I'm looking forward to getting homebrew out on 4.1.0 soon!

@Nah3DS 3.0.1 to 4.1.0 are now all hacked with deja vu. It's safe to update from 3.0.1 to the latest version.

1.00 won't be worth it because the time when the cfws better 4.10 will have it 1.00 users will get really basic cfw by the time it supports 4.10 it will be better thers like no good homebrew now anyways.

Unless Nintendo releases a new update which would most likely before a cfw is released. We would then have to be on the lastest firmware to have online access ruining the chances of having cfw

once a person has cfw they can use emunand to play games online and cheat. so if you can not update untill theres cfw nintendo can't patch it.

Purchased 01/21/18 off Amazon. Just plugged it in last night and it came with 3.0.0.

Leaving it there with Wi-Fi disabled until things unfold a little more.

Lucky you. Ordered mine on 01/18 from Walmart and got 3.0.2. =\ I was planning on having it in the closet for a year or more anyway, though. Updated to 4.1.0 today, but there's nothing on the Eshop that caught my eye. Back in the closet it went.

I bought a 1.0.0 version in Føtex (Danish brick-and-mortar store) earlier this week. I have been staring at it since day one. I guess I am the first to buy from that particular store. I have ordered the Tetris game and I am eagerly waiting for the hack. I really want custom firmware, where you can disable accidental firmware updates. Damn it would be great for emulators on the go and at my TV.

My Switch is still on 3.0.0, and I have not really paid a lot of attention to the homebrew news. If I unedrstand correctly, however, I should be able to update to 4.1.0 (the current version) and have access to homebrew.

If this is true, then I will do so tonight because I really do want to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
