Hacking 4.81 package folder contains nothing?

my ps3 is what looks like to be jailbroken i have multiman retroark and i can boot games from hard disk but my package folder contains nothing? how can i fix this?

If you already have a FTP server (Multiman may have one) you can upload .pkg files via the network to /dev_hdd0/packages, or you can use Multiman's file manager to do so, or you can simply install packages with the "standard" option from a FAT32 USB disk

ive tried installing the package files with my external hdd but its not working? im still new to ps3 hacking

It may well not be receiving enough power, or have a filesystem/partition table the PS3 doesn't like: is it even detected in the XMB?

its getting enough power i formatted it to fat32 what else should i try?
