Hacking Changing or updating CFW?

I haven't touched my PS3 in a long time since Rebug 4.81 came out to a wider audience and now I was wondering if there are better CFW out there and how to change from one to another.

I've heard Evilant is pretty good but I have no idea how to safely switch CFWs and if I'm going to lose anything important in the process or not (not that it's a big deal tbh)

Basically you can just install the new CFW using memory stick update on top of the old CFW (unless you have DEX). You should update WebMan, MultiMan & other installed homebrew as well, lots of things might have changed on HB front since Rebug days.

If you have debug CFW (DEX) installed updating might be more involved.
