PS1/2 Will a burned disc without ESR be bootable in a PS2 at all?

I got a burned ps2 game from a friend (For free) and i noticed it didn't boot with esr and checked it in my pc, indeed. It was not converted before being burnt. Will i be able to boot it AT ALL?
Spiderman 3 for anyone asking.

You could always try to rerip the game on your computer, then patch it to ESR and burn a new DVD.
There is no other way, sadly.

You could use a swapmagic.elf file, run it using ulaunch, and a retail game preferably one that has a high table of contents/toc to swap with. That might work.

Yep, that's the file, but i would edit the post to take out the link so that you don't get in trouble for posting it. By the way if you have a fat ps2 you can copy the game to a harddrive and play it that way.

I have a slim, i tried using the elf file and it didn't work. It just kicked me out to the red screen :/

Seems like even ulaunchelf dislikes the disc, so i think it's just a bad disc overall.

Yeah it has to be the disc for sure then. spiderman 3 works with esr using esr patcher. There are some games that don't work with esr though like parappa the rapper 2 so that swapmagic elf file is nice to have.
