Having a hard time getting it to work with Overwatch
WiinUPro has weird thumbstick settings that only let me walk and turn very slowly
ProconXInput doesn't have rumble and I'm having some calibration issues (hopefully it's not my controller).
couldn't get x360ce to work.

Is anyone working on something better?

Mind telling what game you tried with X360ce ?
Some use a .exe launcher and that can be easly a pain to make x360ce work with it ^^
edit: don't mind me I just read it fully

So
First :
I have this issue on rocket league with switch pro pad (sticks turn but are incredible slow)
I used X360CE to ''boost'' it
But as you have trouble to make it work with overwatch let try to fix that first (Pad on FPS? I admire your courage even with mouse and keyboard I am like a monkey :P)

If I am right Overwatch use 64x binary so you need to get the corresponding x360ce
In X360ce find Game Settings tab and tick : xInputFile 64-bit v9.1 and save + apply sync settings

then configure your gamepad as you wish and try (erase other dll(from your previous x360ce test) if you had any other to prevent conflict)

1. plug in your controller (no joke it help xD)
2. Make sure you start your ProconXInput.exe
3. Make slow and full circles with both your sticks and press Share button
4. Start x360ce and your controller should be seen as x360 pad
5. Click on tab ''Left Thumb''
6. Tick both ''Invert'' and put both slider all the right (only Sensitivity)
-> Note when you tick Invert it change the text from ''less sensitive'' to ''more sensitive''
7. Repeat it for ''Right Thumb'' tab
Save your profil and you can close x360ce and try on overwatch (make sure it worked before)

You don't need any of that. I find XOutput to be easier to set up and it works flawlessly. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't hide the DirectInput controller, which might take priority over the emulated XInput device sometimes if a game supports both. But of course, if a game supports both and allows controller mapping that's not really an issue since you don't really need XInput emulation in that case.
Steam also has built in XInput emulation if you go in Big Picture Mode and map your controller there.

Steam and switch pro controller is a pain trust me I spent HOURS to try to setup it for Rocket league.
And even with X360ce alone Rocket League is one of the rare game that support 2 player local...
Having a controller being seen as two was quite hard to manage until ProconXInput :P

I set up my Pro Controller in Steam yesterday. Only took me a few minutes.
I had to enable controller mapping of generic controllers and then restart Steam to get it to recognize the controller, then the rest was just mapping the buttons. I was stumped for a few minutes because my controller wasn't recognized after enabling the setting, but decided to try restarting Steam and that was all it took.
I think you might need to launch the game from Big Picture for XInput emulation to work.
I guess maybe it just doesn't work with Rocket League.

I had trouble getting XInput emulation working with x360ce in Unity games, I think they don't make use of the XInput DLLs that x360ce replaces, so x360ce is effectively not even being loaded. XOutput doesn't replace any DLLs and instead works by creating a fake 360 controller device, and should therefore work with games x360ce doesn't work with. I think Steam uses a similar method to x360ce, so that might not work with every game, but XOutput certainly should.

I don't really want to buy a $20 adapter to use a USB enabled controller with my PC, but it's cheaper than buying an Xbox One controller just for one game that doesn't support directinput
I tried so many settings on X360ce and I just couldn't get it to work with Overwatch, It's not user friendly at all and I'd prefer something more like DS4Windows that works universally rather than specifically set up for each game
I'll give XOutput a go and also see if I can set Overwatch to boot from steam and try the big picture method.

Yeah, some people don't want to spend $20 on something cause is spending money when there is free alternatives, but if that $20 is gonna simplify or even improve the device of the free method then it depends on the person if is worth paying for or not.

Also there is no need to make fun of someone who chooses to use a gamepad controller for a shooting game on the computer, just cause you wouldn't dare try doing it. I use my dualshock 4 on the pc and even my Switch pro and have used my wii u pro to play some shooting games.

Launching Overwatch from Steam seems to work quite well. My only complaint so far is I have to enter my email and password everytime I boot the game from Steam.
It'd be nice if we got something like DS4Windows dedicated to the switch controller with rumble support and a user friendly UI
