Actually its not... Jap voices

They speak gibberish. There is no voice acting with a real language.

I played up to about chapter 3 with this translation and 4 with the official release and the audio is the same, the odd time you hear something none gibberish I believe its the same, like in the cutscene near the start when the Rathalos egg hatches the monster name is said.

Believe the Japanese is used "Rioreusu" according to a Wiki vs the localized "Rathalos", that audio is the same in both versions.

Now I won't go and say I've compared the files between the releases to make sure they are identical but I'd bet they are and again so much is said in gibberish anyway it wouldn't matter if the odd word got during a cutscene got localized.

That's enough of that though... I think I preferred the fan translation but opted to play the localized version since it was a surprise it even happened, gotta thank Nintendo for that.

Just wanted to state the audio spoken is not a reason to prefer one version over the other, hell if there was a difference someone would have made an "Undub" anyway.

Hmm is that really so thats odd. Since there is also an japanese anime about this. But havent played the game yet so I trust you to say so I guess if you say it isnt.
Anyway, one other reason I can think of to choose the fan translation is that the JAP does seem to have DLC, while the USA/EUR has no DLC..
*(not sure what the dlc entails though)

There seems to be a problem with the 1.3 English patch. The game crashes whenever I try to go past the second floor on the Twin Towers. I've disabled game patching on the Luma config menu and played the unedited CIA and I find that I can go past that room with no problems, so it's definitely either patch or something I did wrong. Any idea how to fix this?

Oh and by the way when I say the game "crashed" I mean I got the "Arm core 0 exception occurred" crash as soon as I try to enter the third room.

I hope you guys would tackle the discontinued Monster Hunter 3rd Portable project. I think most of it has been translated, but the tutorials, NPC dialogs, etc. are left untouched. This is the best Monster Hunter World for piss-poor people like me.

You shouldn't be starting with MH P3RD only the essential parts are translated and they presume most are playing it after being desperate after beating localised western releases. That being said it was my 1st too and I did get to understand it. But I would recommend getting MHFU and playing the tutorials and exploring the area as well as doing the first few missions to get yourself acquainted with all the systems this series has to offer. Then when you hop into P3RD you will quickly recognise these systems and menus again after a bit of perusing and then you can really enjoy the game.

Why bother with a fan translation when the game was already localized and released in September 2017?
And the other question I won't even bother to answer.
The western version doesn't have the updates and likely will never see them unfortunately. And the iOS/Android version will not come either it seems.
