ROM hack of: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon (3DS)



Pokémon Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon are mods for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Like my Rutile Ruby & Star Sapphire hacks and my Nova Sun & Umbra Moon hacks, their main purpose is to provide a more challenging game experience while not artificially limiting the player. The premier feature of Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon is the ground-up redesign of Pokémon Trainers in the world to increase the game's challenge. Every trainer in the game has been edited, and the level curve expects use of the Experience Share, which means that the player levels up very quickly. Every Pokémon in Trainers' teams has a a proper moveset and many are holding items. The Elite Four and Champion are Level 100, and the player doesn't need to grind to equal that!

Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's secondary focus is inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee's "20XX Hack Pack" which is designed to improve competitive players' ability to practice and grind. In Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's Legit Build, everything obtainable is 100% legal and legitimate for real online battles or trades. In all Builds, some features are designed to make preparing competitive teams much less of a hassle. Competitive hold items are much more available, a 6IV Ditto is available through an in-game trade (holding a Destiny Knot), Eggs hatch in one cycle, and Level 100 Memento Blissey battles are available in the Battle Buffet once the main story has been beaten.​

Figured that, it's through Google Translate. How would you translate "Restoration Wing" and "Revival Powder"? Also does Restoration Wing's description look like the phrase "cannot be used during battles" attached to the description for the Full Restore, because that's what it's supposed to be.

The Non-English batch file just copies the title screen movie. It's to save file size.

The game was designed to be playable with no grinding whatsoever. You'll naturally gain EVs as the game goes on and your levels will raise due to the EXP share. Thank you for asking. When it comes to the competitive side of things, I am completely clueless to those things. Been playing the game as it is for years, never going beyond the story. Hopefully with this, I won't fail too hard. Thanks again for making this.

Oh, that's strange. I definitely went into the German language in PK3DS and set them as such. PK3DS has been strange with specifically German in the past, though. Can you use Shift Mode for me and tell me if it still reveals the incoming Pokémon?

I went into the German script, and on the line that has the description for Health Wing, it should say "Dieses Item stellt alle KP eines Pokémon wieder her\nund behebt alle Statusprobleme.\nKann nicht während Schlachten verwendet werden."

The final line is Google Translate's attempt at "this item cannot be used during battle".

It's unlikely that you did anything wrong, if anything I've failed to apply the German language through either negligence or PK3DS being bugged for German. It used to crash whenever you tried to do anything to the German text file, but that bug has been fixed.

Can you go ahead and download the Lite Build for the version you're playing and copy the files to your SD card? Go ahead and overwrite, don't bother deleting the old ones, it'll keep your old encounter files intact. I tried to edit the German language again.

The only time you might need to grind is in the beginning, before your team is really set up. The beginning in most rom hacks are always brutal. I never EV Train, always have terrible natures for most of my mons, and still make it through

I tried the lite build and merged it into my sd card. Sadly still the old item names (items work as intended, i tried this before)

Oh, wait! The different languages are stored in different GARC files. Give me a moment to upload them.

They should be uploaded in about 20 minutes. Curse this American internet. Anyway, v1.0.2 should have proper internationalization.

EDIT: I think i figured it out. Just testing on my end really quick first.

DOUBLE EDIT: Yep. It was an issue with the distribution script on my end copying the wrong files. German (and the other languages) now work properly and include the modifications I've made. Uploading in a bit.

I don't understand what the "SOS Slot 1-7" means on the wild encounter tables. I see that Budew on route 3 has 4 slots where it can call in a Roselia, each at 10% - meaning there's a 40% chance for it to call in Roselia right? Because I've been trying to get one and so far it's called in 15 budews in a row. Am I missing something?
