Nope, right now there's only ips patches. I'm sure they might try to port the ntr plugin that was made for SM to USUM in a few weeks though.

vers. 4022, already compiled. Make sure "Update Pokedex" is turned off, but that's just what I've heard.

IPS patches and NTR are cheating though and I never cheat on Pokemon until AFTER I beat the game and even then I only cheat Pokemon to breed off of. I hate direct cheats, no matter how frustrating the game may be, cheating is bad!

I used a pokeball; couldn't stand wasting all of my decent items. If you can't use patches, I think there's a shop by the beach that trades items to help you. I think you can't do much with it since getting the item means you'll have to backtrack.

When you finish the Grand Trail, Hau tells you to go surf on the beach with him. When you do, you'll get BP from surfing and you can buy the TM Block to stop anything from running. The downside is that'll you'll be on a new island and have to go back. Then back to Akala--Abra can't Teleport to locations.

Why would I do that? I want Abra for the main story, not in general. If I go as far as the second island, then there's no point in going back to get something seriously underlevelled!:/ I ended up catching one that also happens to be Timid, so I'm all good now, went with Fake Out Meowth getting it to a tiny bit of HP and preventing it from Teleporting, then threw Pokeball, much easier than your suggestion

Totally worth it for anything that tries to escape. Since you won't be cheating, I'm sure something will eventually try to run before you can catch it, but yeah, you got Abra so, meh. Also, it grows pretty fast. I caught an Abra at lv. 6; it caught up to everyone and surpassed Grimer in a few battles versus trainers.

I guess ultimately, it won't matter, because we can't have a true legit 'zam...unless you create an empty wi-fi account and trade yourself.

Think my team is averaged at 23; Exp share does its magic.

Nope. I would have to install sun/moon to my 2ds, & I haven't connected it to the internet at all, so I would have to find the patch for it (which I don't feel like doing).

Abra is the most consistently good Pokemon you can get for a playthrough throughout the entire series, levels up fast, after evolving into Kadabra it has crazy high offense for a second stage mon and can learn all sorts of useful TMs. Only problem is catching one and the part up until you evolve it so it can learn something other than Teleport... As for Alakazam, second 3ds local trade works too you know

A fair few should be the same seeing how most of the data structure is the same, so just test the plugin for S/M and keep any cheats that work. It will save time, some are the same anyway (eg: no lines) so at least a couple must be the same...

Beat first island btw and did the photo shoot! Mantine Surf time! I want them tutor moves!

Usually I just turn off the friend list things, turn off spot/streetpass and never had any problem. So am I lucky or everyone is paranoid?

We aren't being paranoid, we are just playing things safe. I, for one, can't afford to get banned, so I've done all that is required to make damn sure that there won't be any trace of the game being on my system prior to release and also that I can keep my save file and register on PGL with it without getting banned. Registering on PGL with a save file started before release is a sure way to at least get you flagged if not banned!

They are almost exactly the same as in Sun/Moon, so just check Bulbapedia or look for datamined encounter tables...
