Check your graphics card settings OP, it's most likely using the iGPU.

Also, some people are real fucking idiots. Laptops can definitely be used for gaming, I've been gaming on low end laptops for years and while it's no where near as good as a top of the line PC, for $150 they're still pretty damn worth it.

My next system will be a desktop PC though, i3 3220 with an R7 360 is what I plan on getting.

I have had greater experiences playing games on my laptop rather than my old desktop. Laptops can definitely be used for gaming.
And even better in some cases
In the middle of a game, you can go to the toilet aand bring your game with you :-)

That's a pretty bad build, are you buying new or used? And how much does it cost?
You get way more bang for your buck buying used, especially on a low budget.

I'm using a 2 years old gaming laptop and so far it ran everything almost perfectly. Heavy games work fine under medium settings to maintain a stable fps.

A week ago I got a new laptop. It costed roughly $2000AUD. It looked cool at the store, AMD A12 CPU, 16 GB RAM and a 4k graphics card (whatever that means, it outputs 1080p).

I played a copy of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun which I purchased from GOG. With the graphics set to "low" the game runs at about 25 fps. Not ideal, but good enough for me. The game is fun.

I was thinking of buying Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy off Steam. But I thought that before buying it I should first see how it runs using a copy obtained from a certain Swedish torrent site. I was like wow, the graphics are amazing. It's a shame the game runs at 10fps. I really, really wanted to play this game. Sooner or later I'll get a PS4/XBONE but for the time being I have to skip it.

If you want to play PC games buy a desktop, not a laptop.
You got ripped off real bad buddy and apparently don't know much about computers. I am sorry for you :/.

I tried KM Player a while ago, and it is garbage. The only players you should be using, are Media Player Classic Home Cinema, and/or VLC Player.

Windows Media player with K-Lite mega codec pack.

Never had any problems with it.
No matter what I threw at it.

Used parts, will be around $110.
I do live in Brazil though, so things are a bit more expensive here. If things do go well though, for the remainder of the year, I plan on getting something better.
i3 3220 + R7 360 can play most of the games I want to play, and it will be a lot better than how my laptop currently runs.

Can't you just return it or exchange it for something better? Get an i7 laptop with gtx 1060. If that's still expensive at least gtx 1050 or 1050ti. It should play the latest games at relatively good fps on a 1080p resolution. You were ripped off at that price. You might as well get a Macbook. :rofl2:

Gaming laptops are fine now especially when the Pascal architecture was introduced. Same specifications and performance on both desktop and laptop except for the thermal throttles since laptops are limited on heat dissipation compared to desktops.

Heck even my 2 years old laptop works great, and this one has a 960m in it. I also paid about $500 less.

Oh when it is so, then I‘m sorry. It‘s my experience wirh laptops. Maybe I had potato ones xD

You do usually have to spend a fair bit of money to get a laptop with a dedicated GPU that will be good for gaming. The cheap entry level laptops with integrated graphics just dont have the power for a good gaming experience, however are usually fine for School work / web browsing.
