Blizzard: has a newly rereleased collection of classics with roms in the install folder: (rename .bin to correct system)
https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/blizzard-arcade-collection

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

https://www.gog.com/ also has NEO GEO games buy the ones you want, get the linux versions: Install Cygwin and also add unzip to your install then navigate to the directory your Neo Geo .sh files in Cygwin Terminal like "cd C:\neogeo" and enter the name of the sh: like
unzip pulstar_en_gog_1_15377.sh -d pulstar
(without the quotes, -d standing for directory) The neogeo.zip (bios) and [romname].zip will be located in the subdirectory /pulstar/data/noarch/game/, just add the [romname].zip ex:(pulstar.zip) choose the neogeo emu you want to use and add neogeo.zip (bios)

Look around there are tools to extract the roms from the install's if they dont come with the rom files already available in a folder (which alot do).

ROM based GOG.com games compatable with third party emulators list: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/r...tible_with_third_party_emulators_thread/page1

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vaiski also has some .sh scripts to extract roms from various collections available on console i think these are also usable in Cygwin though i don't own any so haven't tried. https://gitlab.com/vaiski/romextract/-/tree/master/scripts

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also there is a thread simallar to this on the RetroPie forums you might want to check out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10918/where-to-legally-acquire-content-to-play-on-retropie/2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PC games like DOOM, Quake, Tomb Raider 1, Sonic CD in Steam (to use with games like OpenLaura in open source engines etc just follow the instructions there and copy over the relevent files from your /steam_apps/ game program directory to your open source game directory.

Steam has a lot of PC games that have open source ports, you get all the files you need just look around.

PS with some rom releases you may have to rename the extension AlienStorm_USA.bin or .68k ect. to the correct extensions .smc (SNES) .gen (GENESIS) or .nes (NES) to be recognized in emus. NeoGeo ones are just .zip like "pulstar.zip" no need to rename.

Scroll Down to next 2 posts for more informaion (mostly Snes Classic stuff) and Patches
If any new collections end up coming out feel free to reply to this post and update it with new links!!!!

Also to obtain and for the Legal Version of Star Fox and Star Fox 2 on the Snes Classic (and compatable Patches)

This patch should make this important hack that reimports some missing features more compatable with Emulators/tools and it runs on Snes Classic as well. This is a general fix that pads the file to a common size to make it more recognizable in emulators/tools, also fixing rom information. Apply secondly after the restoration patch.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To obtain the Legal Version of Star Fox and Star Fox 2 from the Snes Classic

Find your official StarFox 2 Rom located in \hakchi2_CE\games_cache\CLV-P-SADKE\
Star Fox
is in \hakchi2_CE\games_cache\CLV-P-SADGE\

Drag and drop both CLV-P-SADKE.sfrom to this tool then CLV-P-SADGE.sfrom
sfrom2smc.exe

https://www.dropbox.com/s/e8tnoobgc1p1xn6/sfrom2sfc.zip?dl=0

It will create a verified good version of Star Fox named JUFE.rom and StarFox 2 named JU2E.rom,
just rename these files to your liking and change .rom extension to .smc
Both these games are compatable with patches, other games on the Snes Classic are heavly pcm patched and are not compatable.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
