@Nba_Yoh is a well reputed hacker (basehax, doodlebomb, etc.) for those of you who don't know.

In the past this has always meant he intends to exploit the game. This is also very likely to be a primary as the game allows user customizable data on the sd card. This is not confirmed. Yes, it is. : )

Flipnote 3ds is not available for normal purchase but it is available for free if you have 200 platinum coins on your linked mynintendo
account. It is not hard at all to get that many coins and you should be able to get that on your first day easily.

So if you are on 11.4-11.5 with no access to cfw (new or *old 3ds), it is strongly recommended you get this "cool game".
And if you have no interest in homebrew, you should still get it before it's pulled -- it's a really fun game on it's own merits.

*we don't know if in the future hbl will be fixed for old3ds or not, so go ahead and get this completely free game just in case ffs


edit: for those of you with cfw already or no interest in this, please get this game and share the download code on this thread for your fellow Tempers in need! I will do so myself sometime soon.

Because this guy is a prolific hacker who doesn't recommend games for no good reason. i.e. he never recommends games for gaming reasons. It's *always* about exploitability with him. Also read his second tweet I posted.

Just userland. But *almost every exploit chain starts with a userland exploit.
*Well ntrboothax and dsiwarehax don't, but the former isn't available and the latter requires a second 3ds.

It's important to have userland exploits just in case. It's free too, so there is no risk.

B9S has permanent HomeBrew. There is no reason to use stand alone exploits with rosalina.

This is for all those people that lost basic userland homebrew I imagine. I love seeing new exploits but hopefully if it can lead to CFW down the road so more people will install it. I never understand why so many stay in that "install homebrew, update, lose homebrew, wait for new hacks, repeat" circle when they keep getting more chances to avoid it.

You actually bring up a good point. Even if you have no interest in hacking, flipnote is a really fun little app to screw around with and get creative.

Buuutt... hacking your 3ds will allow you to install the superior dsiware version too. Gero!!

I remember when I first got flipnote studio 3D from the end of the club Nintendo program. It is a nice application (even though it lacks the ability to go online and view other users 3D flipnotes)

Currently, the only way to get homebrew on those system versions is either DSiWare, which requires an already CFW console, a hardmod, or the yet-to-be-released ntrboothax. However, MrNbaYoh is saying that there is an exploit in Flipnote 3DS that will allow homebrew later
