I'm in doubt because there were rumors of a possible overhaul in the hardware.

I thought Nintendo would make corrections to avoid using boot9strap on the New 2DS XL. Will there be any changes in the installation process, or will it be the same methods ?

We've confirmed that the standard 11.4.0 installation procedure (DSiWare with system transfer) works fine on N2DS XL. We've also confirmed that ntrboothax works on it.

The only new stuff on N2DSXL systems appears to be a few newer system applications to add things like the correct system drawings in the help system.

Nintendo could have been smart and undergone a hardware revision that blocked boot9strap, since that's the only preventative measure against B9S. But, as we know now, they didn't.

they announced the console before the bootstrap thing i believe?
even if they bootstrap was before the annoucement probably they already had the design\stuff ready, to fix the boot thing they would have to waste money for the adjustements..
however it could be like the case of the wii, where only the first few units had the boot issue
