Hi @ all,

i updated successfully to B9S 1.2, but didn´t use CTRNand option. So obviously my N3DS will not boot without an sd card, or without the boot.firm file on the root of the sd. So in case of an sd card failure, i want to make a full backup of my sd card. But as there are many cia´s installed it is way too big.
So which folder do i not need to copy to my pc harddisk ? I mean which folder contains all installed games ?
Would that be ok as a backup to not have the folder with the installed games included ?
The 3DS should still boot right ? What can happen if the games folder is missing ? Should only have the effect of not showing the games in the home menu right ?

The Nintendo 3DS folder contains your installed games. Nothing bad will happen if you lose it except that you'll lose your installed games and save files (if you didn't back them up with JKSM).
You only need boot.firm on the root of your SD card to boot it, and you can redownload this any time so you don't need to keep it backed up.

thanks. i should have mentioned that i wanted to know which subfolder of the nintendo 3ds folder contains the games. i wanted to backup everything minus the game folder
should i just check which has the most data (size) in it ?

Basically all of it - there shouldn't be more than one folder inside, unless you have used that SD card with other systems or used an emuNAND. There's nothing to back up if you don't want your installed games and saves.

Anyone knows how to make a 3DS work with a partial internet connection? On PC it's easy to get around with a VPN, but not even FTP loads on the 3DS (but Miiverse and the eShop loads on Wii U for some reason). Do I edit the connection settings or something?

Hi! Please I screwed up

I have a 3DS XL version 4.3.0-10U, I tried unlocking using arm9hax + luma, I managed to install, but in the part where it was necessary to update to 9.2 the console did not update, I followed the tutorial of CTRTranser 9.2 and even So it did not update and the console did not start anymore, just blinking the blue LED. I restored using Hourglass9. Then the things went out of control! I tried to use B9S, I installed everything ok, I rebooted in the step where I have to configure LUMA:

"In the Luma3DS configuration menu, use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
"Show NAND or user string in System Settings"
Press (Start) to save and reboot "

but when the console turns on it shows the error "An old unsupported FIRM has been detected. Copy firmware.bin in / luma to boot."
From that point I can not do anything else, just enter the Luma settings, I changed the firmware in the Luma folder, I changed the boot file, there is no way out of this error. When I try to start without the SD I get the blinking blue light.

How can I fix this?

Hi! I'm completly noob so bear with me please.

I bought me a New 3DS XL a year ago and by that time I had a friend who did all the proccess to install Reinand 3.2. He told me that I could update my 3ds anytime I wanted and I wouldn't lose my Reinand. That was ok and it worked for me until yesterday. I updated my system to the lastest version like I always did, but now I just get this black screen everytime I boot my 3ds, i can't even get the 3ds main menu, it just stands that pitch perfect black screen. When I boot my 3DS it flashes some colors and opens up a menu - like it did before - but then it goes black.

I did some research through the internet. I removed the SD card and I booted the system and it went to the main menu, but it seems that Reinand and all my files are gone without it. So basically now I know that my 3DS is not bricked or something. Then I downloaded the newest version of the Reinand and replaced all the files. I booted the 3DS, it went to the 3ds main menu, but it freezes if I select a game or even if I go to 3DS configuration menu. If I select anything it just freezes.

My friend who did all this work for me when I bought my 3DS no longer lives in the same state as I do. I contacted him and he said that he can't help me 'cause he doesn't look into the 3DS CFW scene anymore and recommended this place to help me out.

I've been looking for a solution all over the internet, but I really didn't manage to fix the issue. Any help wold be wonderful.

i know i asked about 1 year ago ... but here i go again .. is it possible to hack my sons 3DS's without soldering ? is there a easy way .. i know there is a ban wave ATM ,,.. but they never play online or use youtube ect.. i just want to put a few games on

Unless you are on 11.4, you can do everything without a hardmod.

Do you think we will ever be able to play playstation 1 games on a hard modded new 3ds xl? Shouldn't it be able to run them easily?

Bricks are only user-fault; with the current and latest method there are basically no bricks reported (I heard that a couple of users bricked but it was user's fault, the process is completely safe)

Currently, no.
Either you hardmod your 3ds, use the DSiWare transfer method or wait for NTRBootHax, which will require a compatible NDS flashcart (no one know which yet)

As long as you don't have emunand you'll be fine. Even without a backup your 3ds wouldn't brick.

thank you very much i even have arm9loaderhax installed on system nand, so if it didn't work, it's fine, the 3DS will not brick, even if i deleted all my SD CARD files
