My mini used 2.16 so can I use 2.17 to adding a few more nes games with my original kernel??

(thanks to my seller sent it to me according to my nes classic mini serial number).

Maybe some fragmentation problem? How far you was below limit? How much limit was? Can you try debug version? It has verbose output about disk usage.

I restored it and wiped it to as new and worked fine, just need to figure out what core guy used for his PS1 Army men game as it wouldn't load

I've been running some tests on the single screen game limit for solely NES games. My goal is to have only NES games that I will definitely play and enjoy with no folders so I can simply scroll through my games on one screen, and still have save states.

Currently I have 115 nes games with no folders and so far I have saved 10 states on 10 different games. I have tested all games and loaded those save states, and I've also tested numerous games in one sitting without turning off the system. I have encountered 0 errors. I haven't had time to save more than 10, but to me 10 is sufficient and requires simple save state management.

I removed all pre-loaded games except Super Mario Bros. so that I have a Super Mario Bros. only screen saver.

This compared to previously when I had 65 total NES games, with all the pre-loaded games included, and ran into C8 errors at about 40 save states. Removing the pre-loaded games adds incredible space if you don't want to have the folder system. I'm still using 2.12 as I only want NES games anyway.

What's up with you mentioning your serial number in every post ?
All the original kernels are the same :-)

And to anser your question, if you do not have a hakchi copy of the original seller, you cannot do a lot, except for wiping it clean, and then use 2.17 to install everything again.
But i am using 2.12, i am more into playing the games than to fill my NES mini up with 100's of crap games that i probably never play.

A bunch of people told him that already but he keeps insisting that he needs the kernel from his seller so it can match the serial number of his NES mini. Oh well....

Well, I did say that because previously I don't have it with me. But, now I have a kernel already thanks to my seller. Okay, sorry about that.. Now can I use the latest version just to adding 6 more NES roms ? :)

Hi folks, this is a little off topic but hopefully someone might have come across this...

Does anyone here have the 8Bitdo NES 30Pro / Retro Receiver combo and been able to get the X & Y buttons working in SNES games running on the NES Mini?

You still do not have his Hakchi version, so if you want to add 6 more games, you somehow have to import all the games from your NES mini to Hakchi, but that option is not there, so the best thing to do, is wipe it clean, and start over.

I'm also on the same boat. I only want to have NES games on my mini.

What's wrong with you guys? If you have not free space on the disk, you just need to check which files take up space on the disk and remove them. Just like on any other computer/device. Nothing special.

Revert back and do the upgrades to the 2.14b version where you didn't have the space factor.Appreciate the hard and continuous work for the mini..but everywhere you go people are upset by the space issue...here..reddit..and even your home site. I run 2.14b and so do others..others below 2.14b because you changed it..and you cant put as many games on as you once could. Or load your own mini up with games rather than just the original ones that came like you do on the mini. There is a difference.

Have 15 hmods installed..skin hack..overlay hack..custom startup hack..music hack..271/300. Runs flawlessly...

Update to 2.15..2.16..2.17...i may as well throw it in the garbage..

Why is everyone so obsessed with extra space on their mini, are they forgotting it was never meant to hold that much games...people attack @Cluster for this...he gave us a way to upload games to our NES mini, be grateful and play some games instead being obsessed how many games can fit on your NES mini...it was meant for playing.

I downloaded KMFD's so called hakchi folder via torrent..why is there missing games in your game folders??

When I try to open your hakchi.exe..windows warns me that it wont open it because it's an untrustworthy file?

And no..I run hakchi flawlessly all the time..so its not an anti-virus thing..windows firewall.defender thing..windows just wont open it..

It's not that people are attacking him about having more space. People have a fully working setup on 2.14 or previously. Lets say 290/300 flashed successfully. With your mods installed as well. Everything works. And then you upgrade to 2.15 or higher with exact same setup and now it doesn't work. Without adding more games or taking anything off the same setup should work. But it doesn't. You upgrade and can no longer sync your successful setup that you just had. It has nothing to do with taking up too much space if it was already working. It gets frustrating and cluster has yet to figure the problem out. No one is trying to get angry at him. Just want to know why a successful setup in 2.14 wouldn't work with 2.15 and above. No reason why it shouldn't work. I can flash 301/300 with mods and everything on 2.14b. If I upgrade and use the same setup all the sudden it says I'm taking 321 out of 300 and won't sync. But go back to 2.14 and it syncs. It's understandable how this could really get frustrating. No point to upgrade if you are gonna lose games and space.

Does anyone have a quick guide how to run hakchi helping hand 1.2 to fix the c8 to c2 error. I believe it's option 5 and that hhh needs to be in the hakchi root folder, all I'm asking is at what step do I run it when the nes classic is plugged in? I wish this was included as a fix in hakchi since the c8/c2 error is the only issue I've had and would like to be done modding it so I can do more playing. :)

Just to answer my own question... there is no guide needed. :D Just put Hakchi Helping Hand in the hakchi root folder, plug in the nes classic and click on "Apply savegame clearing fix" and that's it. I haven't tested it very long but no issues thus far. The first time you enter a folder after this fix it will take like 30 seconds to load the subfolders. After that, when entering subfolders and going back takes like 6 seconds and entering a folder from the main menu takes like 10 seconds for the subfolders to load. It's great unless you're showing your system off to a friend or something since it won't be as snappy.

Well I flashed 1.05beta0 (original I had 1.05beta3)
Sir!, Iwould kiss you if you were a girl!
All works well!! even NO mapping needed!

Verry happy with Retro receiver and WII U Pro controller!

This fixed my 8Bitdo NES30 Pro / Retro Receiver combo too. Dropping back to 1.05 Beta 0 firmware (From 1.05 Beta 3) gave me access to Boomerangs and Maps in SNES Zelda!
