Splatoon is one of the Wii U titles that really is going to be hurt a little by its translation to the Switch. The Gamepad was so much more intuitive for the super jump and choosing where to launch an inkstrike. The testfire for Splatoon 2 did show it to work well enough with a Switch controller, but pulling up a map on screen to choose where to superjump and inkstrike isn't nearly as intuitive or quick as using the gamepad's screen. But hey, I get it, those 2 features aren't huge for the game, so it becomes hard to justify the need for a gamepad the entire time, when the only features you'd absolutely benefit from the gamepad in game are utilized such a small percentage of any given play session.
