Hacking what is A9LH? and luma save to update to 11.4?

can someone explain me please what A9LH exactly is? i read a bit here in the forum but in the pinned post there is only a troubleshoting and no explanation

and is it save to update luna on 11.4? iam at 11.3 at the moment but cant run the e-shop, online gaming works thanks goodness

A9LH lets you have CFW from boot up. You used to have to use menuhax, or use an exploit to get into the homebrew launcher and run it from there, or run it from the DS profile.

Yes you can update, as long as you have A9LH or you are in emuNAND, but update Luma to 6.6 first.

yes i only wanted update my emunand luma3ds from 11.3 to 11.4 my sysnand is still 9.2

You can keep Menuhax ofc you are probably using it already since your emunand is 11.3

i know that this is a cfw, just wanne know if it is safe to update my emunand luma 3ds at the moment because i heart sometimes even if you just update the emunand it could give problems. and since i use menuhax i dont wanne get an other hack becaue iam affraid of insall something new and break my 3ds. so as long it works i will use meny hax and not al9h or is there any problem? i read al9h boots a bit faster and has a 100% boot chance but the 80% boot chance of menuhax dont annoy me so much

luma is not a cfw. it is a signature patcher.

In short; yes - just make sure you are in emunand when updating - and update the /arm9loaderhax.bin file from the latest luma3ds.

In long; luma3ds is a sig patcher - the fw itself isn't altered/touched you just need a way to run the patcher. In your case you have menuhax [if you accidentally update sysnand you will lose menuhax and won't have enough access to install a9lh] - alternatively a9lh is only removed if you actively try to remove it.

You can, they are telling you to update the file, as it is what make Luma work with your emuNAND in the first place. When you installed Luma for the first time, you had to put that arm9 file in your root anyway.

my luma allready worked as my emunand, iam using luna since last year, i dont insall it new. my o3ds just ask me for an update when i start my emunand with luna 3ds and i just wanne know if i can click yes or not...
dont wanne install it new or an other hack just wanne know if i can update or not...

Arm9loaderhax.bin from luma3ds is Luma3DS if you update the firmware to 11.4 without updating that file your emunand will likely just blackscreen as the file you are currently [probably] doesn't support 11.4


Again menuhax/a9lh are different ways of loading a /arm9loaderhax.bin file [with there being options to alter the path/name of the loaded file]

i now searched for the new version of luma3ds and found Luma3DSv6.6.7z
have i only to change the Arm9loaderhax.bin as you said or the whole luma folder? because when i have to change all i would lose all my save files, wouldnt i?

Yea just that .bin file should do it. And your saves are fine regardless [they are in the 'Nintendo 3DS' folder]

Edit. You need to update the boot.3dsx also, https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-upgrade

It goes menuhax ==> boot.3dsx ==> arm9loaderhax.bin iirc

Make sure you've copied the boot.3dsx file as well - from menuhax folder to root.
I'll take a took at luma menu now; but leave those two unticked

Edit. Just tick the "Show NAND or user string..." one
