I've injected into the hs.app specifically with no success in launching FBI. I tried using the down button as you suggested and found alternative options, and research hasn't given me a clear answer on which .App file I should use.

I don't know if I should do anything at this point since I find a reason as to why there aren't two sets of . tmd and . app files in the content path I mentioned in my last post.

Nonetheless, I thank you for replying.
What are the options? You should only be able to pick hs.app or the FBI injectible app because they will be the only ones in your files9 folder.can you take a picture of your files9 folder and also tell us exactly what options there are to pick from when using the D-pad?

Edit: what is it you are doing with GodMode9?

From the Health&Safety Dump options I get the following:
hs.app (1-9)
syshs.app (1-9)
hs_sys.app (1-9)
SW0185621_hs1.app (1-9)

I've uploaded a screenshot of my files9 folder.

Using GodMode9, at least according to this part of the 3dsguide https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting#gw_fbi, I have to navigate to SYSNAND CTRNAND -> title -> 00040010 -> 00021300 -> content and move a set of .tmd and .app files with uppercase file extensions to a "newdir" file I created, as a solution to my injection problem. My problem is that I only have the file set with lowercase extensions.

Did you copy the FBI injectible app to the files9 folder? I don't see it.

Section I Step 17:
Copy the contents of fbi-2.4.2-injectable.zip to the /files9/folder on your SD card

You don't actually have to copy the whole lot, just the one for your region and device type.

I don't even want to know how I managed to skip right past that part. I though I learned my lesson from my PSP hacking days. I suppose doing this while recovering from surgery was not the best plan.

Nonetheless, you have my thanks for all of your assistance. If you need a recommendation, I'll definitely write you one.

Well I thought I would be very good with putting CFW on my 3DS (since I've done that also with my PSP).
But I'm kinda getting stuck and reading mixed messages everywhere.

I want to have Luma3DS on my O3DS (FW:4.4.0-0E) and right now I have a GateWay3DS (blue and red)

I tried following http://guide.3ds where it is said to:

  1. Create a folder named files9 on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist
  2. Copy Launcher.dat and Decrypt9WIP.dat from the Decrypt9WIP .zip to the root of your SD card
  3. Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS
  4. Put Decrypt9.nds from the Decrypt9 .zip on your DS flashcard
  5. Start your DS flashcard from your 3DS
  6. Boot Decrypt9.nds using your flashcart

At the moment I'm getting stuck at [6], I've tried booting into Gateway Classic mode, but could find Decrypt9.nds anywhere.

What should I do now?

Show a screenshot of the microSD you're using in your DS flashcart and also of the menu where you select games (you say you can select the Gateway.nds but not Decrypt9.nds right?)

Hello;

Is there any thread or link that talks about the updated compatible list of SD cards for 3ds/2ds (Specially for 32 GB or higher)?

Appreciate any help. Thanks!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Another question:

I am following the 3ds.guide for forgot to backup so I will try to follow this: "If you downgraded to 2.1.0 but for some reason have no functional NAND backups, this guide is for you."

I got all the files and would like to start, but before that I saw this:
Section I - Prep work
  1. Copy GodMode9.bin from the GodMode9 .zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card and rename GodMode9.bin in /luma/payloads/ to up_GodMode9.bin
Since I just started to downgrade my 2DS to 2.1.0 and stop. I checked and do NOT have the /luma/payload folder in my SD root.

Should I just create this folder?
OR continue to do the Installing arm9loaderhax till I reach the Luma part (E.g.
Section III - Configuring Luma3DS) before proceeding with this?

Pretty much any SD card should work. I personally use a Samsung EVO 64GB.

Well I've got two .nds files on my flashcard, one called GW-installer(it does not work!) and the decrypt.nds does not show up.

https://tweakers.net/ext/f/eKrgd7WvlCuO5p9PViN6QdVA/full.jpg

I used NvRam installer and that lets me use the profile hack.

After that I see the dragon and when i boot in classic mode I see this:

I select the Gateway card and everything goes black..

These are my cards

Sorry if this is super terrible but most of the content I've looked up is way too technical and I can't seem to get a straight answer not knowing enough about it. I'm looking to buy a Supercard DSTWO Plus, but I'm a scrub and updated the software to 11.3 (newest?). If I purchase the flashcart and follow steps of tutorials I've seen will I still be able to homebrew/other stuff my 3DS or nope?

I don't know what I did or I'm doing wrong, but all games that I install from a CIA get an error at some point.
The error is "An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the poer, then turn it on and try again."
I'm using the latest version of Luma3DS and arm9loaderhax, but I had the same problem when I used RxTools. I'm using FreeShop to install the CIAs, but I also used FBI in the past and I had the same problem. It is in every game, all of them get this error in a specific point of the game and always in the same place, sometimes I cannot continue the game, which is frustrating. There is any kind of problem with 2DS or SD card?

Update:
I understand how to get into DS mode with Gateway. It sees the decrypt9.nds file, but it says its corrupted.

Update2: Manage to get the DS file started, after a reboot it seems working. Now after deploying decrypt9.nds my screen keeps saying "loading".

Hi Everyone:
Ive been out of the scene for a little while. Theres something I want to do but unsure how to do it.
Currently I have a 3DS XL on 9.2.0-20U. I used to use Gateway3DS. I want to make the jump to Luma3dS and A9LH.
When I used gateway 3ds 1-2 years ago, I used some NVRAM thing if I recall to make the N3DS Gateway-able. I dont know if I need to reset that feature or whatnot.

I currently have a NNID on my EMUNAND that I want to put back onto the SYSNAND when I convert to CFW as I have used that NNID for years and I actually have some purchases I made linked on from when before used Gateway.
Any suggestions?

Backup your emunand. 3ds.guide instructs you to restore it to sysnand. I don't know about the gateway stuff.

3ds.guide and 3sdsetup.co.nf (to get the files).
When you finish the guide follow the Move Eunand section
