Here's what I've done.
  • I followed FlimFlam69's guide.
  • Installed Haxchi using Brain Age and Homebrew Launcher 1.3 through Loadiine ovh (1.4 would only freeze with a white screen)
  • Did not download or install Mocha or Coldboot.
  • Used the Wii U USB Helper for eshop.
  • Installed games to the Wii U's flash memory, no external USB drives.
  • 5.5.1
Now there are two things I don't understand. I thought the Coldboot method was so you don't have to click the Haxchi icon to load it so you can play your games as soon as the console is booted up. How come I'm able to play these installed games without loading Haxchi first? As of now I turn on my console, click on the Mario Kart 8 icon from the system menu, and it plays fine without clicking on Haxchi. Is this because they're eshop versions?

The second thing I don't understand is, if I do click on the Haxchi icon and hold down B while it loads it brings me back to the system menu, but when I just click Haxchi and don't touch anything, it boots into the Homebrew Channel. Isn't that backwards?

Also, when I click on the Homebrew Channel fowarder from the system menu without clicking on Haxchi, it gives me an error so I know Haxchi isn't being loaded on start up (coldbooting.)

Umm you only need CFW like mocha or haxchi to play games that wasn't sold on disc, games like mario kart 8 and super smash bros, that is sold on disc and eshop don't need cfw like mocha or haxchi.

You still need haxchi/mocha for homebrew and dlc or anything else. Requires sig patches, the games you're playing do not require sig patches.

NO SIG PATCH = LEGIT
  • Games sold at retail and eshop
SIG PATCH REQUIRED = NOT LEGIT
  • VIRTUAL CONSOLE
  • DLC
  • ESHOP ONLY GAMES
  • HOMEBREW

1) That's because they are installed with the method that is using WUP installer to install game's encrypted content files (either eShop version or extracted from a WUD). It requires a ticket which can be extracted from the same WUD image or from a console from someone who already played that game disc.

2) Holding B (shortcut) is booting sig patched sys menu used for out of region content, DLC, VC, etc.

3) The reason HBL channel is not booting (error) is because it needs sig patches, so booting with B will fix that. CHBC removes the need for using the B button press shortcut on boot, as you set it to automatically boot to a patched sysnand.

You probably have it setup that way in the text file. When you install haxchi, the text file that is used with it known as the configuration is how it tells the haxchi to function when loaded. You must have set it that way so when holding be returns to system menu, and by default it will load homebrew loader.

You need to configure the text to say something like this.

a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
b=wiiu/apps/wupinstaller/wupinstaller.elf
default=sysmenu

As you can see by this example, the default loading method is the system menu. Holding a will boot homebrew loader and b will boot wupinstaller.

Since i use mocha cfw, i had set default to mocha. So mine text file look like this.

default=wiiu/apps/mocha/mocha.elf
a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf

Just some examples. If you wanna make system menu load by default load the config.txt in the haxchi folder on your sd card in text editor. Copy and paste the text above in the quote to the file and save it. Then run the haxchi installer again, everything should be fine now.
Also, when I click on the Homebrew Channel fowarder from the system menu without clicking on Haxchi, it gives me an error so I know Haxchi isn't being loaded on start up (coldbooting.)
Again, you NEED SIG PATCHES. You can't use that without haxchi or mocha cfw. It is homebrew, is not a legit content, it requires sig patches to load first.:mellow:

You can install any DLC, update, etc, in a sig patched region free system menu once Haxchi is installed. I assume, legit, you mean you're own ripped discs.

Mocha is RedNand (EmuNand) that allows a region free, signature patched environment. You either dump the game(s) to the emulated Nand or USB and it's use is mainly used for unsigned channels, out of region games, DLC and VC. You don't need Mocha for your own console region titles and updates, etc. No sure what you mean by wanting to erase signs of Homebrew.

Well i mean, i installed Mario Kart 8 with WUP. When i boot the Wii u, i can directly launch MK8 from the home menu.

If i delete everything homebrew related on my Wii u, HBL, Haixchi, Mocha, Loadiine and everything else, will my MK 8 still be accessible?

Yes. Once a game is installed with its disc ticket (which MK8 was), you don't need any of that. You can always do the browser, http://loadiine.ovh, mocha, wupinstaller routine to add more disc-ticketed games later.
