Does it give the C8 error if you move the game into its own folder?

It was in my "testing" folder last run with a few NES games. I moved it to it's own "N64" folder and the result is the same.

Sounds easy, but some of us are basic users. Could you give use the new compiled release candidate through file drop or something like that?

Sorry, Can't do it. You should figure out how to compile from source or you probably shouldn't be messing with them. Just wait for an official release. Cluster has enough to worry about. :)

Well, looks like I'm the only one that can't play a SNES game for more than one minute...

Always crashing, coming back to home menu etc...

Help.
did you fix the problem? i seem to have the same issues with my nes mini. everything was ok during the installation procedure. i tried different settings for retroarch shell, different roms, same for nestopia, everything crashes sooner or later, sometimes after half a minute, sometime after 10 minutes, just random. i'm starting to think that something is wrong with my nes mini. what are the most stable (optimal compatibility, recommended) settings for retroarch, audio, video, etc... ? i tried many. i also clean installed hakchi 2 times. PS. i played f-zero usa (.sfc) now on snes9x2010, threaded video on, BF off, integer scaling, audio sync off...freezes after 20 or so minutes so i had to hard reset, pull the usb cord. sadly i'm gonna have to go back to hakchi without retroarch and migrate to retropie or sth. similar.

PS. what is the strongest SOC solution regarding the hardware to use like retropie machine, with high usability, compatibility (gamepads) and stability, speed, accuracy.. do you have some recommendations for me? which is the best rasp.pie solution with the most juice in it?

Is it just me or does mario kart 64 crash constantly. I HAVE to have bilinear filter turned off and it plays a lot better otherwise it will crash a lot faster with it turned on. But with it turned off I could finish a cup and it just sent me back to home screen. Then I just tried playing a couple more races and crashes again. I'm about to say Eff you to glupen64 and mario kart!

I just tried the core you gave to pcm. It is actually not working. The game plays, but slower... and it will crash the system. You should try again and let pcm know so he can delete it.

I just checked some youtube videos of that game and the mdenafen_vb core is effectively slower than original (but not that much to make games unplayable); anyway I got the crash too, exactly when ending the 1st level going up with the elevator the secondo time (to see where just look at this video at minute 6:32 ). Dunno if this core should be removed because it seems to work even if in a bad way, i will leave the decision to pcm720; i think more games need to be tested, if you can do that and report it will be cool ! Communities grow that way :)

Anyway I just build up nxengine core (for cave story game) and it seems to be working fine ! (need only to resize the aspect ratio). Game can be found here (you need the /nxengine-libretro/datafiles/ folder only). Core is submitted to @pcm720.

I'm a few pages behind (like 20+)...so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned...Yay!

Edit: @Cluster, I wish you would reconsider the pull request for the retroarch checkbox. Maybe if it only shows if the module is installed?

Can you save space using *.zip instead of the extracted roms? Are there any performance issues to do so?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How can I use the internal save slot function of SNES games like Mario or Donkey Kong?

Wouldn't it be lovely if in Hakchi2, we could sort the games before flashing it and then sort it.
I do not have a lot of games but i have many systems, so there are a couple of Castlevania's, Megaman's, Mario's unsorted.
It would be great to sort them in the main gui.

RetroArch module and cores were updated:
https://github.com/pcm720/retroarch-clover/releases/tag/0.4-extra
Changes:
  • A lot of FDS fixes and shell optimizations (including the ones from Cluster)
  • Some cores were updated from Lakka distribution for RPi 2/3
  • Added PicoDrive, SNES9x2005, DOSBox, MAME 2000, MAME 2003 and Mednafen NGP cores.
Thank @asper for MAME 2003, DOSBox and NGP and @nesito for MAME 2000, DOSBox and Caprice32 update

As always, read the instructions.
If you're having troubles with this release, try to uninstall hakchi completely. To do this, in Hakchi2, press Kernel —> Uninstall, do not restore the original kernel.
Synchronize your games and then install the modules you need

--retroarch --core fceumm
Hello, I have a problem with cores dosbox and caprice32 (I used pcm cores release 0.4), I can't run games directly from nes mini menu, only runs the operating system ( msdos and amstrad OS) These are my command lines on hackchi2:

/bin/dosbox /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-U-XINKF/atlantis.exe

/bin/cpc /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-U-ATWXO/After_the_War__1989__Dinamic_Software__es_.dsk
What do you think?

Kind regards,

Hey ho, one question. Is it only me? The 'normal' way to hold a game pad for me is THIS way.!!

two-hands-holding-joypad-8354694.jpg

No matter, if it is a SNES Pad or Wii Classic, ...

Classic_Controller.jpg

.. the right hand/thumb position would prefer if the NES Classic buttons b and a are mapped to y and b. (for nes classic games and in parallel the turbo buttons x and a)
The 'original' Mapping a and b forces me to rotate my right hand 90° to the left . Thats really stupid for old nes games a la Mario, when you want to run fast and jump at the same time.

I would like to change the button mappings for the Wii Classic controller in RA for nestopia core or at least for a sigle game. But everytime I try to change the mappings and save them, The RA console goes back one menu level and after restart a game the mappings are the same as before.

after changing the aspect ratio to 16:9 the system is keeping this setting after saving and restart.

any help or step by step how to change button mappings would be nice. I'm close to freak out. lol

Greetings, Mario

That's cool. Could I ask why in particular you don't want to share? This community has been pretty good with helping each other out so I'm just curious. Like I said though... no big deal and thanks for the info on it.

Jack Bros crashed too. It must be the emulator. Cave story is such a good game!
