Homebrew Can i watch non-youtube vids on youtube

This worked in 2014 and i donno if i can post this here but if using an old version of youtube allows me to play internet videos can anyone help me with that? Also im not sure if im able to post this here but it seemed right

Because you didn't mention what model you had and they thought maybe you might not have known the N3DS can do that.

Because you didn't mention what model you had and they thought maybe you might not have known the N3DS can do that.

Another thing you can try is downgrading to 9.2; I think that's the best FW to play videos.

acutally you used to be able to but they patched it so you cant load anything outside of google login / youtube.com to patch tubehac. i remember using the youtube app for a browser all the time on o3ds (i was upset cause one patch made it so you cant type in item boxes anymore)

Oh, I thought they meant you can do what you're asking but on a N3DS. Obviously it's common knowledge the N3DS plays videos. Lol.

Yeah, I 'memba that. I think if you have CFW on 9.2 you can still do that? I remeber before I bought my N3DS XL I had two EMUNAND SD cards for my O3DS with Rei an RxTools with Rei on 10.3 and RxTools on 9.2 and the 9.2 could still load YT in the browser.

You might also want to check if youtube changed their format. I'm not 100% sure if they did, but I was able to load the mobile site on my O3DS. Try it for yourself.

It could be done with user land homebrew only, in theory.
You would have to use an old version Downloader (like the one smea released for ironfall) and then run the old YouTube through Hans with a romhack to not check for required updates. Maybe even a romhack to set the homepage to google.

The old version trick works in this case because Nintendo didn't add YouTube to the min-version-list (like they did for ironfall and smilebasic). They don't have to because YouTube itself enforces updates. We would just patch that out.

Personally I always found the 3DS to sometimes lag when streaming videos, both Old and New 3DS, I use my Wii U gamepad for that!
