please could someone point me in the right direction :)

I want to play DS Roms on my New 3DS Xl A9lh Luma CFW without a flashcard. Basically like I'm doing now with 3ds roms. Is this available yet?

You may REALLY wanna lower your expectations. Yes is possile to run DS roms with CFW alone, but at the moment, you are better off with cheap flash cart like r4 (i would suggest dstwo for personal reasons) But you can be waiting a long time for current improvements. Not all ds games work and only a handful does, and none of them have save support, so in the end playing is probably a waste until save is supported, unless you one of those people who don't mind starting over every time like nes games, or a game has password or something... or i guess you speed run games for a living like mega man or something. But is possible and very limited.

Load times are bad, up to 2 minutes just to boot, and every load sequence is like poor. Just playing mega man zx, is about 2 minutes to boot to main menu, 2 minutes to get to game start, then text scrolling.... a FMV cutscene which studders every secoond extending a 2 minute video to about 5 minutes and then you actually get to play. Every time you pause to open menu, 10 second delay, and not to mention, walking around from room to room, and other stuff. Is like playing a very old early CD based game like turbo duo, sega cd, playstation, phillips cdi, panisonic 3d0 or neo geo cd, or even First gen psp released 2005 Phat 1000 series model without the extra ram boost. :P

At least wait until save feature is added or load times is improved, or buy a cheap flash cart for less than $20

Mario kart ds works perfectly it just needs some time it will get better. There are some games that play perfectly like Mario kart ds.

Most of this is true, though most of them do have save support now. Load times have been improved significantly, and many games are playable. Mkds, sm64, nanostray, elf bowling, sonic rush, and yoshis island ds all run pretty well, with only slightly longer load times. By that i mean only like 5 extra seconds to load. Also most boot very quickly now, only taking about 10 second after the Nintendo ds logo. When was the last time you checked nds bootstrap?

How can you even play it online? :wtf:
Altwfc. You can patch any ds game to work with altwfc instead of the official nintendo servers, which no longer exist. Only drawbacks are nobody is ever online and it requires either a wep connection on your router or no password at all. Most people get around this though by making phone hotspots without passwords.

True, though ds rom loading has gotten to the point where many games are more than playable. And the op wanted rom loading without a flashcart.
But the OP also asked to be pointed in the right direction. The right direction is a flashcart.

Who the heck still uses a wep Protection in 2017? :wtf:

I had enough trouble trying to use that crappy nintendo wi fi usb connector thingy... BY BUFFALO. :ninja:

I still have the thing with the software disc but it doesn't work on any systems not windows XP i think, and i have windows 7 so is very unusable unless somehow a patch is made, which i doubt. I hope somehow homebrew can be able to fix this problem. WEP protection, what was nintendo thinking. :glare:

Here's my solution, make a hotspot with your pc or phone, set no password, and whitelist the 3ds. Works fine. Pokemon black and white also have the ability to connect to wpa2 on a dsi for some reason. Also my dad is very stubborn so i still use it:P
