My sysnand is on 9.2 and my emunand is on latest. I currently use menuhax to launch Luma and boot into emunand.
However, apparently you need arm9loaderhax to install vc gba cias? How do I go about doing this? None of the current tutorials are set up for explaining what to do if I already have Luma.
Also, I only want to do this if gba cias really run better on old 3ds than using emulators, because I tried to play Sonic Battle on gsps and it only runs at 30fps currently.

Follow this: https://3ds.guide/

You can install VC cias just fine right now, but they must be installed on both SysNAND and EmuNAND.

Do you have a copy of the old guide? The new guide makes no sense to me. There isn't even an option to do things from 9.2 on this guide.

Edit, oh wait, there is, but I found the old one on wayback machine I think.

I've managed to figure it out at this point and have installed a gba game on my sysnand, which runs perfectly.
And sorry Quantum, but the time you posted that I had already got my brother to torrent them.

Question though- I keep hearing people say that going to data management in sysnand will erase installed cias on emunand- is this true?

Also, is there any way to change what button boots to sysnand? Right now holding start boots hourglass, holding nothing boots emunand, and holding L boots sysnand (seems to have replaced menuhax). But my L button is degrading, so that worries me.

Edit- also, is there a way to patch games that have link cable features to recognize the 3ds's wireless as that?

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.

Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
