Could be worse with there bug bounty up.There is speculation that the vulnerability for a9lh could get bought out and patched.

The only way to know would be if someone sneaked into Nintendo's offices and eavesdropped. There's no date pattern for the updates either. Sometimes it's two months, sometimes it's more. And someday they'll stop.

Nintendo wanted that too happen, it's too bad there's been a grand total of zero reports. Nintendo is wasting their time and should have given up on the 3DS long before wasting their time on a "Bug Bounty."
Nintendo is mostly going to push out another "Improved Stability" update that patches out fast/slow/waithax. There's nothing they can do about A9LH because it's impossible to remove through an update. They risk bricking both hacked and non-hacked systems if they tried to do a targeted update.

Lets not forget Sighax which is even lower down the chain than A9LH (1 step away from bare-metal access), which means any hope of patching A9LH by going to the Bootloader and pulling some tricks in there is now a no-go since we'll be in there, and able to block anything.

That and the only way to patch out Sighax is via a hardware revision, there's no hope in hell of pulling an "improved stability" patch on it or A9LH.

Besides, Nintendo aren't new to the whole "Lets "accidentally" brick user's consoles" approach to things.

After the latest slew of entrypoints, I think it's safe to assume they'll be taking their time with the next update. They'll want to plug all the entry points in 1 instead of multiple smaller updates.

Doesn't mean we won't have a way around it though. The 3DS is a swiss cheese of exploits at this point.

Hopefully Nintendo learned from that mistake...then against this is Nintendo and they made the Wii U

As long as you have A9LH and Luma3DS installed, it doesn't really matter what Nintendo does. Luma3DS won't allow A9LH to be overwitten.

It was until money gets involved and hackers get greedy.

Strongly doubt that. Nintendo aren't going to throw around $20k willy-nilly, and I would say the highest payout you'd ever see probably would be max $500 (Remember, they'll pay you what they think the exploit is worth. You've got a patch for A9LH? Enjoy this $350 and also please sign over full rights over the code so you'll receive no credit :)").

You'd get a LOT more selling it to exploit-banking companies.
