Wait a minute. The fba rpx core can be properly used on Wii U via loadiine with HBL 1.4. Are you sure that the rpx cores are only usable via haxchii?

The RPX's should load fine as long as you have HBL 1.4 and load the loadiine 1.4 exploit. or load through haxchi.

Any rpx files can be loaded with HBL 1.4:

Changelist:

  • support for RPX file launching from SD and wiiload/sendelf directly through HBL
  • new elf loader (sd_loader) code with pre-installed kernel memcpy function and support to load RPX
  • fixed audio clicking (thanks to aliaspider)

What's with the nightlies today?
I see three for today now, I am guessing one is the default elf build, and the other two are RPX, but why are there two RPX builds?
What is the difference between the _rpx and _rpx_test one?

Ok... that sounds correct. It was pretty weird because i remember the size being an issue not because a loading method, but because HBL itself

Uh... The test version is heavier? o.o

Ask Fix94 and/or Aliaspider? IDK XD I plan on testing the RPX versions with Haxchi and then testing the audio :P

Huh I just downloaded all three and noticed something weird.
There seems to be a slight size difference between ELF and RPX builds.
FCEUMM for example, seems to be 0.4MB bigger in RPX format than in ELF (2.1MB/ELF, 2.5MB/RPX), the same also applies to other cores.

It might be worth checking out both ELF and RPX build of the same core just to be sure.
Also, the normal rpx build and rpx_test doesn't seem to vary that much other than what cores are available.
I'd suggest going for the normal ELF and RPX_TEST builds for testing.

Here's an image comparing all three:

Gonna test the RPX (from the most recent compiled build) cores in a bit, Snes9x, Genesis Plus, Nestopia, mGBA will be the ones I'm gonna test; things are a bit crazy at my house with family being over (Thanksgiving and all), so testing will be a bit sporadic :P

Let me know if you manage to boot up FBA or MAME RPX through Haxchi.

so while I was sleeping I left my wiiu running with starwing on it (the PAL version of starfox) to make sure PAL game audio doesnt fail after a long "playtime" either and indeed, 8 hours later I could just pick up the gamepad, turn up the volume and play a bit with the audio still sounding as if I just started the game up so the changes I did seem to be pretty good at least for me.

So how's this going so far?
Is it in a playable state at all? Or is it still very WIP?
Is there an N64 core ready yet?
What controllers are supported?
I rather want to play Perfect Dark, which Wii U VC doesn't work well with.

It's WIP, but Snes, Genesis, and NES are are pretty much perfect, Snes9x (mainline, not 2010) is perfect, never had a single issue.

N64 and more complex emulators a re along way off, but will happen.
Gamepad only so far.

Now everything is working fine :D

The problem was because I was launching the exploit as homebrow browser 1.3 and not 1.4 xD
