you change the game region, if you change any other settings there it would be possible brick.
You load a game on the region you provide, any other software for different regions are not on your wiiu.
i need a perm way to turn a ntsc gamepad to a pal one

For anyone wanting to know I installed the US version of Super Mario Advance 4:- Super Mario Bros 3 on EU Rednand and to my surprise it actually worked with this RegionFreeHax! :)

Has anyone tried this with a Japanese game w/updates on US console, for example, Splatoon?
Someone add this to OP I am sick of explaining this,
EUR USA and JPN games each have unique title IDs for each of their corresponding Game, Update and DLC titles
so for example in SSBU it is like this:
Region Title ID
EUR 0005000X10145000
USA 0005000X10144f00
JPN 0005000X10110e00
the X=0 for game E for update and C for DLC
if you install JPN title over USA update you will have incompatible titles as JPN title is 0005000010110e00 but USA update is 0005000E10144f00 this means the JPN title will not see the USA update and it would be like it is not there. This applies to all titles so don't bother asking "maybe it work on this game?" this also applies to DLC as I have shown so make sure your title IDs match before you install anything

I'm aware that the games have different title IDs in different regions. I'm also aware about the X, E, and C part. My question was, if I do the regionhax, install the Japanese Game and update (since Splatoon's DLC is in the update), will it let me play online with the Japanese game?

yes updates are reported to be downloading normally for games from a different region

So just launch the game and it should download the update from the eShop or install the update manually? I'm just trying to get confirmation. Thanks for your help!

Has anyone tried out of region Wii VC games? Wouldn't that boot into vWii which isn't region free?
You got a point there, the vwii is based on the old PAL/NTSC region locking/TV type. I think they found a way thought to switch the wii between NTSC and PAL mode and same for vwii this will require you to homebrew it thought and find the relevant homebrew you need

Has anyone tried to find out a decimal value for developers consoles? It could be 8, resulting in a magic value of 127. THIS IS JUST SPECULATION. Maybe someone is willing to take the risk of a brick.

With this logic a 9 would be a japanese dev console, a 10 an US dev console and a 12 an european one. But again, that's just an idea. And a risky one, too.

Oh but Xeonblade chronicles wii u editon is a special case thought, it's the only vwii game that works on REDNAND and its the only one with game pad support, Im guess they didn't use PAL or NTSC and just used the modern digital system on it, you should try it another game that's not such a special case like this
