Ok so my current setup is with luma and emunand, but I am wondering a few things about switching to A9LH:
1. All my games and saves are in emunand, so if I have to reinstall everything in sysnand, will things like saves be deleted?
2. I want to keep my gold mii that I have in sysnand. I tried to get it on emunand and it did not work.
I can't just use one nand or the other, so how would I go about doing this so that I get to keep everything?
I am on O3ds

I can answer the first question, I don't know a whole lot about mii's, you will keep everything. The process is very safe now, and easy, especially on n3ds. Just copying a few files and pressing a button.

I have a Old3ds, so would my sysnand be overwritten by emunand in this case? Or would I need to back up my sysnand beforehand?

If you have an O3DS, you can update being on 2.1 without risk. Then extract all the info you have on emuNAND and inject it on sysNAND (like game saves).

Ok, so will I have to extract the saves from each game with something like a savemanager? or can I just reinstall the .cias to sysnand and they would find the old savepaths?

Also, does sysnand get overwritten at any point during this? I cannot get my gold mii working on emunand but its there on sysnand.

Should be possible since the save backup is located on the SD, so if the systems detects a game with the same titleID as the backup, the system will use it. You could try it.

And also, NO. The emuNAND would only replace the sysNAND by human mandate. The tutorial is basically starting from stratch to A9LH without emuNAND, so implies that on the normal run, the emuNAND won't replace your system. You have the choice but that's preferences if you have one.

ok. I read somewhere that you had to downgrade emunand then flash it to sysnand. However, this might be old.

Follow the guide, it couldn't be easier.

Moving your emuNAND to sysNAND is recommended, but not required. You can keep your emuNAND and boot into it automatically if you like.
I know, but I would rather keep sysnand since I have a gold mii I do not want to lose and wont work on emunand.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
