Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
I have been playing this game and I will be playing through it and I really would not recommend it. I would recommend Hyperdimension Neptunia (the first one on PS3) over this game overall. This is a very weird mishsmash of very good production values and very mediocre game inside it. Side stories are formulaic and boring to play, you follow them if you care about the characters which is whatever.
The worst thing by far is savage enemy encounters. This is so badly thought and tested mechanic that has cost me from fifteen to hour of progress just because they can spawn randomly in front of you, you are UNABLE to stun them or get away from them way too often, and then you are making RNG war to escape the battle, and way too many times three escape attempts in row fail and end up in game over and realization I just lost up to hour of progress. This shit is not fun, not funny, not good at all. What's worse is even if you were scourging low level area, like even the first area of the game for a side story, the savage enemies actually scale with player level and can come in and destroy you out of nowhere even in a lvl 8 zone. I got one game over and tons of progress lost when first time I expected the savage enemy to be savage for the zone's level, and got fucked over. Subsequently I've been fucked over with surprise savage in sidequest and three failed escapes in row. Way too many times.
Overall gameplay is bare and not that exciting. If anything the gamepad functionality and all make me hope this console had actually good turn based RPG by atlus that had used similar features.
Only reason I am finishing this game is because it is so stupid it is entertaining, and that is a taste bud most people should not have. When playing through shit you already played through happens for the fifteenth time because savage enemy encounters are a shitty bad mechanic, your opinion on this game turns to the very grim.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions if anything, is not good, not hidden nor a gem. Only reason I do not call it bad is because I can laugh at it, but not with it.
