hello i'm having issues with MHX data manager "the tool itself"

I'm on a N3ds XL and on the system 11....33e

I already do have homebrew as I've used previous tools, so i'm 100% certain that I added the files correctly into my :c\sd\3ds folder

when I access homebrew via menuhax, and scroll down to MHX Data manager, Just like any other tools my screen flashes different colors etc.

but the moment I see the yellow, it is stuck and won't proceed. Can someone tell me, Why I am stuck here? I've checked the download link , and I got the newest files.

EDIT UPDATE

I read above and changed xml file. it worked THX!
Sorry about that. I just put the new XML file in the current release ZIP. If anyone still has issues with the new XML you'll just have to delete the XML file and you wont be able to use the "Get Encryption Keys" option.

You can't share them. They're copyrighted.

I don't think so, as in they are no longer jp dlcs. I've personally modified and translated everything myself, so its not the original files, but my own files, the only thing that is in common are the monsters + rewards, but everything else is personally made?

does this still hold the copyright?

Yes it does. Just like how a dubbed TV show is still under copyright or a fan translation of a game. A modification of a copyrighted work is still not yours.

It seems like all of the challenge quests that i imported crash on start. Maybe they have a different structure then normal quests?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to copy my save file from my O3ds (running stock 11.0.0.33U) to my N3ds (running on stock 9.2U and emuNand 11.0.0.33U) but have failed with every MHGen save manager out there. I get "Error: Unable to open extdata" every time I try to import my backed up save file. Both are USA versions of the game btw.

Here is what I do:

I boot into homebrew launcher using browserhax on my O3ds, run mhx_data_manager, back up my save file.
Then I copy the backed up save file to the SD card on my N3ds.
I boot into homebrew launcher using menuhax on my N3ds and run mhx_data_manager, and choose restore save file.

Then bam, "Error: Unable to open extdata" comes up.

Did I miss a step somewhere? Please help.

Why are you tring to use MHGen save managers? Get something like JK Save manager.

Donwload the 3dsx file since you dont have CFW.

You mean you're importing official/unmodified challenge quests? or are they ones that you've changed with my quest editor?

You need to start the game at least once on your new system so that it creates the extdata. Then you should be able to import it.

I didnt edit them in anyway. Just exported them from MHX, used the python script and then used your manager to import them into MHGen. Challenge quests start on quest q1020001. Since you have to choose your equipment at the start of the quest, i thought that maybe they had a different structure to the normal DLC quests.

I did, I even downloaded all the DLCs as well. Still the same extdata error.

Do you use EmuNAND? If so you have to start it from within your EmuNAND, not from themehax/menuhax.

They're the same format but I forgot that there's a separate file for the armor presets. You probably don't have that in your save or the one you have doesn't have the presets for that specific quest. I'll look into adding import/export of the armor preset file as well.

Quick question, how do I make the browser quest editor work? I've tried to change q1010001.arc to accept subquest pawpass, changed the second item in original supply box to 1 pawpass, and added 99 mdj. Imported it successfully as q1010001.arc and it doesn't appear on my quest list.

This is the first question everyone asks when they use the quest editor :( https://github.com/svanheulen/mhx_data_manager/issues/2

Sweet, finally. For some reason it didn't work the first time I tried it. Went back last night and there it is. Trick was to use the .cia version of JKSM for my emuNand to be able to recognize the files.

Thanks!
Yes, it's because you're using EmuNAND. If you start homebrew from theme/menuhax it's going to be running on your SysNAND and thus it can't see your EmuNAND save files.
