I don't understand the chart on

0 2 - 6 >6 is on the top if the chart and 1.x.x.-8.x.x.

I being on 4.1.0-3u does that mean I can upgrade by either of these 3 options?
4.X.X + Freeway MSET + rxTools Browser + Freeway Browser

Or is freeway mset the only way to upgrade? Also, the instructions require a DS flashcard that works on your 3DS version. Can I use just any DS flash cart?

Hi all.

Bit of a noob here.

I got my N3DS XL a couple of days ago (finally decided to upgrade from the DS Lite, lol) and almost immediately began downgrading in order to install A9LH. I'm using Plailect's guide which has gone well so far until part 4 where I had to inject FBI into hs.app. The universal injector doesn't seem to like Macs so I haven't been able to complete this step. The app refuses to open and the go.sh script gives the 'no hs.app found' error. I don't have a Windows PC or the space on my HDD to install Windows via Bootcamp. I have tried the Windows version (GUI and standard) in Wine to no avail.

Would someone mind explaining my options please or injecting FBI for me?

I have posted elsewhere but I don't think that thread will be very active considering the OP has resolved their issue.

If I were to get a copy of Sm4sh with the 9.2 Update data, could I use a CFW to manually update the browser?

Not sure why you wouldn't want to update, but you can use ctr-httpwn

at the moment i have 10.7 cakesfw but all the guides explain now to luma3ds, dont know what steps i need to switch from cakesfw to luma and if all is working after the changes like before

Just copy the luma files onto your SD, overwriting the cakes ones. Then delete any cakes ones that remain.

It doesn't matter as long as your wifi is on when you try to go to one of the addresses.

guiformat-x64 only has 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, 65536... no 32k. Is it okay if I set the allocation unit size to 512?

Also, the sd card that came with the 3ds is a Tosbiba 2gb sd. When I open guiformat the program states the sd card is a 1gb FAT. When I check removable disk properties, Windows 7 tells me the sd is 2gb FAT.

I get error fat32 must have at least 65536 clusters, try to specify a smaller cluster size or use the default.

use 32k (32768) since this is a 2gb card. though you should consider using a larger one.

Can I just copy/paste all my SD card content to a new one and have it still work, or do I have to run some kind of transfer? Basically everything on there was installed via FBI on A9LH

You got the hs.app from the Health&Safety app. You weren't supposed to get the FBI.CIA or FBI.zip. You have to download the latest release from Plailect's guide.
